Great Product
I have one for Kerosene and now this one for Diesel. Don't know why anyone complains this is the only way we will get spouts thanks to California so we need to make do with the designs we can get. It has worked great for me nice size fits in the trunk of the car to get to the gas station. Very stable and a nice shape to store on a shelf.

Briggs & Stratton diesel gas can
This can is CARB,(CA Air Resources Board)compliant and as such is, in my opinion, very dangerous. You must lift the can higher than you would normally to engage the neck in such a way as to open the valve by pushing in against the nozzle. This is all plastic and prone to leaks because of the extra tipping required and the undue pressure against the nozzle. My intention was to defeat this feature and the B&S can lends itself to it. I live in a non-CARB state, by the way and so this is not a requirement where I live. I removed the valve and expoxyed the two pieces of the neck together to make the nozzle normal again. Other cans, i.e. the Blitz, are much more difficult, if not impossible, to do this with. The can works fine now. Investigate your situation thoroughly, as I did, before making such a decision.

Works good after modifying it.
It holds fuel and it works fine since i tore the little butterfly valve out of the spout. to try to use it "as is" was pretty bad. I was standing on the edge of the highway for a ridiculously long time until all the fuel drained out and it leaked. after i tore out the "guts" from the spout it drained twice as fast and didn't leak.

Sad they all 3 spouts fell apart right out of the box. :-(
Nice can but the spours do not work properly they are a very bad design and fall apart. I now have 3 cans that have no spouts and have to use tin foil to covet the caps. They all fell apart the day I opened the box and tried to use them. Parts fell down in the can and springs amd stuff now fuel may have parts in it and worried about even using it and how to get parts and platinum pieces out. Not sure what to do they looked nice and I got brand name to ensure quality and long life. Just sad and disappointed now . With they just had the basic pour spouts that just work. :-(

sturdy, functional but over-complicated "safety" features
I'm not happy with the spout that turns into a "security" or "safety" feature. It was soooo hard to use, I actually couldn't make it work correctly and gave this stupid jug away. I bought 2 of them for when a hurricane came through my area and I needed to have enough gasoline to get to work. I feel like having the gasoline on hand in a jug I couldn't use was worse than not having the gas at all! Definitely would not buy again. I liked the sturdiness and price but their engineers over-thought the "safety" features.

good can if you can overlook the spill proof spout
I have several 5 gallon Wedco gas cans that are about 15 years old and are still holding up well. So imagine my surprise when I went looking for the same cans but in yellow for diesel and found out about these new spill proof spouts. Based on the other reviews here I ordered a replacement "jug vent" along with my new yellow can and then I used a step drill bit to make a 1/2" hole and the vent snapped right in. It took me a couple of minutes of playing with the release to get the spill proof cap off, so after I got it off I immediately cut that little toothed flap of plastic off of the cap. And I confirmed that my 15 year old Wedco spouts will fit on this tank, so I will just use the spill proof spout that came with this tank as a cap for storage and I will not even remove the plastic blank from it. This can looks like it is made just the same as my old gas cans, with much thicker plastic walls than some other cans that I saw in stores. I am giving it 5 stars based on the construction of the can itself and for not changing the cap size so that I can continue to use my old Wedco spouts with this new can.

Very Poor Design and leaks while pouring
Used it to fuel my tractor. Fuel everywhere, leaks from nozzle no matter how tight you get it. Very awkward to hold the nozzle in while pouring. It hurts my back also handle is in the wrong place making it hard to pour., I am going to have to use a funnel and take the nozzle off.

What a great Buy!
Sturdy! Better than expected for the price. Great no spill spout and made of material to last for years to come.
