Good Collar - Dependent on Use
My dog needed an Ear Ambulation due to a tumor in his ear. The had to remove the tumor and everything to the ear drum. Consequently I needed the collar so he could not scratch his ear. This collar has held up fairly well so far.PROs:. The collar is easy to inflate - a few breaths and it was done. The collar cleans with soap and water and you can wipe it with a washcloth if needed - which I did because of the drainage from my dogs ear. The collar is light weight and my dog wasn’t weighted down by the collar. The collar is soft so though he did hit some of the walls it didn’t hurt him (no crying or complaining) or the walls. The collar did not impede my dogs ability to go up and down stairs or his ability to go out. The collar holds inflation well - in over a week there has been no loss of air. The Velcro holds well even with the dog scratching at it and the occasional removal of the collarCONs. The fabric is not as soft as I expected; however, the dog has no problem sleeping and it is cleanable.. My dog is a beagle/shepherd mix near as we can tell (he is a foster) and His legs are skinny enough to get under the collar if he tries hard enough - really have to watch. The collar is starting to rip on the seams after a week of scratching from the dog trying to get to him ear. The dog has been able to wiggle the collar over his head on its tightest setting just from the force of his scratchingThis collar would be 5 star if it hadn’t started ripping so quickly. It is a great collar for the most part and I have recommended it highly to friends having animals being spay/neutered.

Falling apart at the seams
We ordered this collar two days after my dog was in a traditional "cone" collar. The great thing is that with this E-Collar, she can see where she is going and isn't bumping into things as much. An additional bonus is that I am no longer feeling like my dog is trying to assassinate me by ramming her cone into the back of my knees to take me down. With this E-Collar, she is able to see and navigate much better. My dog has a 14-inch neck, which places her in a large E-Collar, according to the sizing chart. My instincts told me to order a medium and I didn't, but I feel like that is on me. The large is just a little too big for her and she can slip out of it pretty easily, which is disappointing. Perhaps is your dog is close to either size, like mine was, order the smaller size if you want to try this particular E-Collar.The highly disappointing thing about this E-Collar is that it is not very durable. The pictures above show what it looks like after 3 days of daytime only wear (we switch to her traditional "cone" collar at night since she can get out of this one). As you can see, it is pulling apart at the seams on opposite sides of the collar. The hole where the valve for the bladder comes through shows some wear as well, but this may be from my dog, because the collar is a little big, in spite of following the size chart, she was able to reach it and chew on it when we had it facing forward. Once we flipped the E-Collar around and had the valve facing her chest, she no longer nibbled on it.We have not over inflated the bladder, so I feel confident that the reason for the ripping seams has nothing to do with that. Not only have we not over inflated it, we have had to refill it a few times as it seems to leak. Nor has my dog been pulling on it while wearing it. Again, she can slip out of it pretty easily and leaves it well behind once freed. Running her regular collar through the provided loops on the E-Collar has helped make it very slightly more challenging for her to escape from it - but only slightly and we still have to keep an eye on her. In retrospect, I am thinking Houdini would have been a great name for this little escape artist...All is all, the E-Collar mostly does what it is supposed to do. I only hope we can get a few more days of wear out of it before it completely bursts at the seams.I am giving this a rating of two stars over one because of improved visibility and mobility aspects. Based on quality alone, I'd give it one star star. I would not buy this again if the need arose for this type of product in the future. Fingers crossed we make it a few more days with this one.

Works well but my dog popped it
I've bought MANY of these over the years for various dogs after surgeries/injuries. This one functions well enough, the velcro is a nice addition to ensure 360 degree coverage. The collar loops are wide enough for collar ends to get through. The only problem I had with this was that after a few days my dog manages to pop the air balloon inside, rendering the whole thing useless. I only knocked one star off for that though, because my dog is a large breed and SUPER rough with things (she weaponized her recovery collar, using it to bash things for fun), so most people likely won't have this problem. My dog also has a really long and flexible neck, so she managed to lick at her belly stitches (with great effort and a very uncomfortable looking position). But it took a lot of effort so she didn't do it much. This next part is a little gross but....I was super grateful that the low profile of the recovery collar allowed her to still reach her backside for cleaning XD. I think those Elizabethan collars are SUPER effective, but I feel like it must be annoying for a dog to not be able to reach it's gross bits for cleanings (gag).Important to note, these collars will not prevent your dog from accessing limb injuries, only basically midsection injuries are protected. So, it's not an appropriate option for things like dew claw removal or broken/injured limbs.

100% Recommended E-Collar
It held up rather well on our American Pit mix. He was not liking the big plastic cone. He was unable to get up onto his bed because the cone would get stuck and prevent him from climbing into his bed easily. This collar made a world of difference between him being able to get comfortable or not. I highly recommend these collars. Make sure you get the proper measurements for your animal. Ours was a little small for him. He's a pretty muscular build and it worked but our next one will be a size up. This collar helped him with his surgery recovery and was also able to withstand him trying to scratch it off quite a few times until he became used to it. The outer fabric is slightly shredded now but the inflatable collar is still perfectly fine. No punctures and we've used it off and on for a few weeks with him to prevent any infections or licking whenever he had an allergic reaction. I definitely recommend this product for your animal. It helped my best buddy heal.
