The book has some useful information and pretty photos but be warned - the kindle download is a pdf not an actual ebook format. It's ok on my large computer screen but it's useless as an ebook on my kindle and my phone.It's very very very disappointing. If you want it get the hardcopy.

No maps. You don't know where any of these places are at. Not really descriptive for snorkeling either. The pictures were pretty boring too

I have been diving as a guide and cruise manager in Raja Ampat and throughout Indonesia for more than 9 years.What I like about this (recently updated) book is that it provides a highly representative selection of the key diving areas and literally hundreds of dive sites in the West Papua area, it is beautifully illustrated with photos and the related sidebar info adds to the overall experience of diving in Raja Ampat.West Papua is a huge area and to dive it independently of an operator, liveaboard or resort, is impossible so I disagree with the previous reviewers feelings on the lack of maps. You can't go out and find these places yourself and the book is not intended to help you do that. It is designed to whet your appetite and help you build a wish list of places to visit.Buy and take it on your trip to enhance your experience, or buy it later to relive some of the highlights.In either case enjoy your trip and enjoy this excellent book!
