The 99 Critical Shots in Quiz Bowl Kindle Edition

My son was on a middle school quiz bowl team. He was very good at it because he loved history and literature. The only coaching he received on the team was reading old questions. I knew after watching a few tournaments, there was method to the madness. I did some searching and found Dwight's book. I was able to create slides for my son for most of the "shots" in the book. I can tell you that Dwight's "shots" do come up in tournaments because I knew the answers because I read the book and created the slides. And don't let the age of my son deter you from getting this book, the majority of the shots were for older students, for example, The Haber-Bosch process. I didn't include that in my slides, because of my son's age range. Dwight also reviews question construction, etc. (Math is not covered in this book.)

Very useful study guide. The author explains his reasoning behind selecting his 99 "shots" in great depth, but then gets down to a treasure trove of quiz bowl material. Would be very helpful preparing for NAQT style tournament.
