Super Glue 80583 Copper Bond Epoxy

I have used this epoxy in the past and it performed very well. I like it because there are times I just do not want to be sweating connections near wood that is 200+ years old. Unfortunately this time the product I received was obviously old. It had hardened both at the top and bottom of each compartment. I was desperate so I pushed the old stuff out to get to the product in the middle. Bad mistake. Every joint I used this product on failed. Every one. I ended up removing them all and taking the risk of sweating them. As I had very good luck with this product before I put the blame completely on the supplier. They sold and sent me a product that should have been put in the trash can, not sent on its way to someone who was depending on it.

I had a copper tubing connection needs to be made in my bathtub. First I tried to used solder torch gun with could not make it work without leaking as the connection is inside the culture marble wall and no room to apply heat from behind the wall. Finally after reading all the positive reviews I give it a try. I just follow the instruction completely and it works! It is easy to do. No leak. I can twist and install my bathtub diverter sprout without problem. Great product!

The viscosity of the product at 68 deg F made it difficult to force it from the dispenser for mixing. Once mixed the product performed well.

I rate this glue only 2 stars because I could not force the glue out with the plungers bonded together like Simese twins. I had to cut the ends of the glue tubes completely off to access the glue and on the second day of being open the glue did not work. I had to use a new tube and this time I cut the joints to the tubes so they were separate but the yellow tube would not allow me to push the liquid out. Again I had to cut off the end of the tube to access the glue. Super Bond desperately needs to correct this accessiblilty problem. I cannot recommend this product until the problem is solved. The glue works but you cannot store it for future use after you cut off the ends to access it.

Good products. But it's difficult to use same amount of eppoxy a.b. because one is soft, the other is thick.

I have used this before and it worked well. These two batches were beyond their expiration date or something. They did not cure, and with the easy applicator, it's almost impossible to mix the A and B components wrong.

Sometimes a little of the white side portion comes out ahead of the yellow side. If this happens or the mixture is thick, holding it under some running hot water sometimes helps. When mixed well and used properly, I've had only good results. Back in 2003 I used it for assembly of manifold fittings (Copper Ells and Tees). This Copper Bond assembled manifold has now been under pressure for 11 years without any problems.

Works better than Just Copper brand sealant but you will still have a leak.3 of 4 pipes sealed OK so far but the first pipe from the water source leaked even under low water pressure.
