I also make my own rubs and sauces and, for beef, tend toward S&P as my base seasoning. I'm now using this as my finishing rub on briskets, including a light dusting after slicing - what a beautiful flavor pop. For steaks, I like to end with a mop of melted butter, fresh garlic and a little Private Seasoning. So good - I've woken up thinking about it.

Smoke beef brisket

This is our second bottle, which says it all for a two person family. Fabulous for any protein, and it allows for a beautiful sear. We also use as a base with other herb rubs. I got the first bottle as a bit of a joke for my husband, who loves BBQ cooking shows, but it's really good. We also are big fans of the honey rub. Finally, no chemicals or unpronounceable ingredients. It's simple but it somehow works.

As a cookoff team we have been using the Butcher brand products starting this year and have improved our results significantly.
