It is not a hormone, but the only growth promoting implant you can use in cattle. It is implanted subcutaneously on the back side of the ear, one inch from the head. Animals gain faster and convert feed more efficiently when they receive life cycle implanting. Low cost high return
I've been using Ralgro implants for a couple of years and it's money well spent. I implant all my calves the first time I get them all up and work em (about 90 days old), then again at weaning. Cost per head is just a few $$$, but I sell calves that are 20+ lbs heavier than before I began implanting. Its easy to do, just takes a few seconds per head, and gives me a great return in my investment. All producers regardless of the size of their operation are costing themselves money if they aren't using this simple tool.
