Absolutely indispensable for both casual or serious T.E. fans alike. You will learn as much from his personal letters to friends and acquaintances as you will from his biographies.

Personally unrevealing, ordinary

Anyone currently reading or who has read anything on Lawrence will love this collection of letters. It is a great companion to any of the biographies on Lawrence. I read it alongside Michael Korda's Hero, so that I could really get a sense of what Korda was talking about during each phase in Lawrence's life. Lawrence was a genius, and his writing, even in personal letters to his mother of brothers, was simply poetic! I never tire of reading his letters, though at times a person does feel like they are prying into his diary and reading things that were never meant for the world to see.

I just started reading this, and it makes me tingle. Life-long Lawrence lover. I do feel a bit guilty about reading his letters though! I hope he doesn't mind. Lol
