Leaders Doing Handstands
I was sent a copy of When Rosa Parks Went Fishing by Rachel Ruiz by #kidlitexchange to read in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. A wonderful piece of American History written in a way children can understand how important Rosa Parks was to the civil rights movement of America. A glimpse into her childhood and youth explained wonderfully why her stand was so important for the future. Teaching children standing up for yourself and others can be as simple as sitting when you believe your choice is right. And accepting The consequences of those choices is not always easy. The illustrations are beautiful and message is clear.
