A previous reviewer said that this wasn't for beginning treehouse builders. I don't think that is the case at all.I bought this book because I wanted to explore attachment options, and it had a chapter on that topic. There was so much more inside this book. There is a detailed description of a massive treehouse they built. Even though I never plan to build such a thing, the read was wonderful.I was going to put a treehouse in our back yard. After reading the section on picking the tree, I realized that it probably would have killed the tree completely. My tree, which I saw as huge and tall and a great tree-house tree turned out to be very sick, and the book even pointed out why.This is the kind of book that makes you want to sit down with the author and have dinner. His writing style is very conversational, easy to follow, and hard to put down. I wish I was fortunate enough, as those in the book have been, to have him come and build my treehouse.This book is a great read and great value. I hope that he writes more of his treehouse adventures for us to enjoy.

Winter in the Midwest creates a lot of opportunities to dream. It's 23 below right now as I look out the window at my little woods. With no leaves, I'm selecting a tree for the grand kid's tree house come spring. Each day, I look at Pete Nelson's books and then mentally design a tree house for the gang. This book and his television series have brought back a lot of fond memories of being "off the ground" in my fort, space ship, castle, cloud or whatever that day's fantasies brought. Got to do it again. Thanks Pete. Warning: getting this book might cause excessive day dreaming. Aw Nutz, go for it!

My niece requested this for Christmas and she carries it around with her. Her books are her security blanket and a non fiction made me nervous that she wouldn't be as into it. I was completely wrong!!! The book is written throughly and quirky with the style we are used to seeing from Pete. It's full of amazing facts, diagrams and of course the very cool treehouse he has design.

Follows the title to T. It really is principles. If you think this is going to tell you how to build a tree house you are mistaken. It will teach you how to design one and give you some ideas to mull over. Really good read on top of that.

This book is a good starting point if you are thinking about building a tree house. It gave us some ideas, but is not by any means an in-depth book on the subject.The photos are great.

The book was just like it was discribed and arrived on time. I have enjoyed reading and getting ideas for my own project in the spring. It had detail discription on some of the tools needed, but just not how they should be use. I figure if your building a Treehouse you should have some idea how to use the tools.

I cant fault Pete Nelson, if you are just interested in tree houses buy it. If you are after the more recent info on how to build a tree house because you may give it a go go for one of his more recent books.

This is the book that explains the engineering principles to be used when building on living flexing things like trees. Uses clear language and helpful diagrams.

Not great details regarding many elements that first time builders would like.
