FlotoRoma Leather Duffle Bag – Italian Handmade Carry-On Travel Bag

The leather is full grain (no plastic backing or filler) looks slightly distressed or well-worn and the stain/tanning is a rich, expensive looking color. Looks like a more expensive bag. Zippers seem to be well-stitched and quality (metal not plastic). Interior is a nice, thick canvas material that stands up to abuse.Perfect size for 3 to 5 day trip depending on how much you like to pack of course. I can fit a suit, one pair of shoes, 3 dress shirts, 2 jeans, socks and underwear for 3 days and have room for my dopp kit. Of course I have to take time to roll everything properly to make it fit, but that's expected with a small carry-on bag.The only think that is negative about this bag is the horrible, almost unbearable smell when you unbox it. I've owned a lot of leather goods and I know sometimes they produce a smell after tanning but this is about the worst smell I've ever experienced with a purchase. I opened the bag and sprayed with a bunch of cologne and have it sitting out getting aired. After two days the smell started to dissipate and I expect in another week it will be odor-free. This isn't a reason necessarily to avoid buying but you should expect this and plan to be able to air it out for a few weeks before you want to put any clothing in it.

The Cabin bag arrived promptly and I am more than just pleased. It looks just like the photograph depicting it in the Amazon presentation. The day before I ordered it I was at Bellevue Square in Bellevue, WA and saw a beautiful leather bag (the nicest I had ever seen anywhere) displayed in the window of Allen Edmonds. I went into the shop and began to cramp up when I saw the $750 price tag. It looked terrific, but not that terrific. I sulked my way home and started looking on Amazon. I was confident I wouldn't find anything close to what I had seen. My bag looks as good as -- not better than -- the $750 one. I am fussy and have been disappointed with some purchases I have made. This isn't one of them. I read several reviews and saw that some people had given it less than 5 stars. After looking at mine I came to the conclusion that any one giving this bag less than 5 stars probably has to be pulled off their wet nurse (hear that sucking sound?) and have an adult hold their hand on the toilet plus check under their bed before nighty-nite. Don't be concerned about the chemical smell. Follow the instructions and in 1 - 3 days it's all gone. Great bag & great value.

Gorgeous bag!! Extremely well made. Unfortunately, it was quite heavy when empty, and would be unmanageable for me once full, as I intended to use this as a carry-on bag. If it had wheels and a pull out handle, the weight would have been a non- issue. Sadly, I had to return this beauty.

I actually returned this product to Floto and picked up their Sienna duffle instead. This bag is very well made, the leather seems to be high quality, and the zipper and other brass components all appear to be durable. The only thing I didn't like about this bag is that there isn't an outer pocket, which is why I went with the other one. And even though this bag and the Sienna have the same measurements, the Sienna seems a little bit smaller, which is good because this bag was just a bit too big in my opinion to be a true weekender. I'd imagine that all of Floto's products are high quality based on the two that I've seen and touched in person.

Beautiful and well made bag. I read a few reviews complaining about a strong smell when it comes out of the plastic bag after delivery. I hung it up in the garage for a week to air out and it was fine. It makes sense. Hey, its the real thing. It is a freshly treated animal hide wrapped in an air tight plastic bag for International shipping. Of course it needs to air out a bit. This is a beautiful leather bag and is worth the little bit of time and effort to take care of the real thing.

Just received the bag and it is great !Like said in other reviews there is a smell of chemicals and the zippers are a little hard to use: both problems will disappear over time.The only reason I did not give this bag 5 stars is the difficulty of putting a pad lock on the zipper. It is super inconvenient although this seems essential for a travel bag...All in all it looks and feels great and is the perfect size for me !

I was not a fan of this bag. The craftsmanship was impeccable and it looked great but personally I did not like the leather that was used. Usually I love the smell of leather but this did not smell like leather at all. It smelled like someone had soaked the bag in chemicals. I am very familiar with the different types of leathers and tanneries and I have no idea what they did to this leather.Now, the paperwork did mention the smell would go away with time and if you were sensitive to the smell to let the bag sit outside ideally in a humid environment for 24 hours to get rid of the smell. If the smell was the only issue I would have given it a try to see if the smell went away. Unfortunately I was hoping for a nice soft leather and this bag was made from a more rigid leather that was not soft to the touch.I did like the size and aesthetics of the bag but for the price it was not what I was expecting.
