Terrific!
I purchased a new TCL Q6 TV. I connected the TV to my 20 year old Onkyo TX-NR702 with an optical cable. Things were great in Zone 1 but no audio in Zone 2. This is understandable since Zone 2 is strictly analog. So searching for a remedy I came across the Prozore 5.1 DAC Converter. Reviews were good so I purchased one. It is simple to install. I used the USB port on the TV as a power source. I then connected the optical cable from the TV to the Prozore and then connected the RCA jacks to Zone 1 on the rear panel of the receiver. Turned everything on, selected Video 1 on Zone 2 and it worked! I couldn’t be more pleased. If you have a similar issue you can’t go wrong with the Prozor converter.

Just what I needed!
We bought a new Sony 55" TV that has no RCA audio outputs to go to our vintage Pioneer SX-780 stereo receiver from the late 70's. So, I needed to go from the TV digital audio output to analog RCA audio inputs on the stereo. After reading the reviews and product descriptions of a number of these devices I decided to go with this one. (While I didn't know if I needed it or not, the volume control helped to sway me to this one.)I received the device, and it looks just like the picture on Amazon, and included the optical cable and a USB power cable. I connected a small AC to USB power adapter I had from one of my old cell phones to the switched AC outlet on the back of my stereo and plugged the USB power cable into that, connected the optical cable from the TV to the input and a set of RCA cables I had from the output to my stereo, and it works great. The volume control on the device works, but with the volume control on the stereo I'm not sure I really need it at this point, so I set it in the middle.Sound quality seems just great to me, so I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Limited in what it can do; but surprisingly good given its price
Bought this as the cheapest option of among Dolby/DTS down mixers to see if could force apps on my TV to stream higher quality surround sound and have it down mixed at my end vs. 2-channel stereo being streamed directly from the apps for my 2 channel audiophile systems. This only accepts Dolby Digital (and not the more common Dolby Digital Plus) and so it is still fairly limited. I do seem to get surround sound being sent from streaming apps, and it does seems to downmix 5 channel into a 2 channel sound (as I don't seem to be missing any of the back channel sounds). Surround sound does not sound much different (if at all) from 2 channel stereo; may be a touch wider than 2 channel stereo, but the difference is so small that I could be imagining it. Don't expect a virtual surround sound experience like DTS:X Headphones. The big surprise about this unit was the DAC - it is pretty good for mid-fi audio gear and I can easily recommend this just for the DAC alone. I have several "hi-fi" DACs - Denafrips Ares II, SMSL M500, and SMSL Sanskrit 10th Ed MKII - and this certainly is good enough for casual listening and I only hear higher noise levels when I hooked it up in my higher resolving audio system. The more intriguing part is that it offers a decent level of detail and clarity without the razor blade like sharpness and digital glare of my Sabre/AKM chip based dacs and so is not fatiguing for longer listening sessions. Of course, you won't get the spatial sound qualities of something like the Denafrips Ares II, but this is a dac for enjoying music over critical listening. I can’t find the dac chip specs, but I suspect it is from cirrus logic or TI which usually is the case in this price range.

Works as it should
Installed only a day ago, but so far does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Needed this adapter to connect a new Philips Roku TV (optical output for sound) to my older Bose surround sound (RCA inputs only). The only odd thing is that the “volume control” knob on the adapter does nothing in my installation.

Constantly has to be power-cycled
When it works, it works well. However, as others have stated I have to unplug and re-plug the power to get it to wake up. I've tried both RAW and PCM audio from my TV with no difference. I've had the audio cut off while using it, so it's not a case of it going into a deep sleep while everything else is turned off. The TV I'm using only has the coax audio out so I don't know if it would actually behave using the optical audio option.

PROZOR DAC Converter 192Khz Digital to Analog Audio Decoder - Great!
Item works great. No pops, cracks on my end because this among other this decodes Dolby surround etc. and I suspect people's reviews having problems with similar items got one without this decoding. Easy hookup, quick connect, very good clear sound from tv to stereo.

Supports Dolby and PCM
I bought a new TV and wanted a digital to analog converter so I can continue using my analog Bose system. I had an old converter but that only supported PCM and not Dolby, which could be the option for lots of new TVs. Plug and play without issues. Excellent value. Excellent audio quality.
