A very good quality case that provides secure dryness even while diving
I find reviewing this item to be a little difficult, in that the results that I got using it rely just as heavily upon the phone I was using as they do on the housing. If I were to separate out the housing experience alone, my review would likely be: My phone stayed 100% safe and dry, and the wide-angle port does, indeed, increase the field of view for the phone's own camera.I also shoot underwater with an Olympus TG-2. Comparing the image quality between the two, I'm able to get what seems like a lot more detail out of the Oly. For example, I took the Watershot scuba diving and came across a pair of eagle rays. I shot some pics, but upon reviewing them later, I found that because of the distance between me and the subjects, they are little more than a slightly darker area in the image. From previous experience using the Oly, I know that it would have handled this situation much, much better. However, up closer (and even at a more medium range), I'm really very pleased with the results I got with the Watershot results.I think the major advantage to the Watershot is the convenience: no need to pack another camera, no extra battery or memory cards to try to keep charged and ready. And it really is a comfortable case to use and handle. It's big, but that adds a lot of surface to grip onto when you're under water. As for negatives, apart from the experience above (for which I can't take any stars off, because that's a camera limitation), you need to be pretty careful with the wide-angle port and trying to hold the case with both hands. I have several pictures where one of my fingers makes an unwanted appearance due to how I was gripping it.And after using it for a day or two, I now notice that my phone is no longer stable inside the housing. When I use the buttons to interact with the app, the phone actually moves around inside the housing. I have not been able to investigate further as to whether or not I just hadn't put it into the case properly, but I'm having a hard time imagining that that would even be possible to do. It is a problem I need to look into, and if it pans out that one can put the phone in in such a position that allows it to move around inside, I will come back and re-rate at one star lower. In short, if you're looking for a case to keep your phone dry and secure while snorkeling or diving, this is a very solid option.

I would recommend this case to anyone
I went seawalking 10 meter under water in Bali and was able to take a very clear 15 minute video of me under water with the Fish!!! I would recommend this case to anyone !! Best money ever spent... In order to really navigate this case well it is necessary to purchase the upgraded app, in my opinion the app should be free for such an expensive case... All in all will get the job done

Phone completely broken.
This housing does not work. I don't know if the particular housing I received was a defective one, since most of the reviews I see on here are positive but I just wanted to let people know that defective ones exist. The particular dive that I used this housing for was only 40 ft of maximum depth but still leaked enough water to damage my phone to the point that it won't even turn on anymore. I am still on vacation but I will be returning this housing as soon as I return and it sucks that trusting this housing is now going to cost me repair fees that is higher than the value of this case. Future buyers should do a test dive with the housing empty so your phone doesn't turn to sh*t like mine did.

The device works as expected. I tested it on ...
The device works as expected. I tested it on our swimming pool and will take it on my upcoming vacation snorkeling and diving. As someone else posted, it will not work if you have a glass screen protector, may work with the plastic but I have not run through the trials yet. My other issue with the product is that it requires a special app, it is designed to work with the case and only provides very basic functions. More advance options requires a $9 subscription that requires annual renewal. It should be free considering the cost of this housing.

case is great app needs some work
This casing is really functional and takes great pictures, the only annoying thing is that the Water Shot APP does not use the full width of the camera, so images are more "traditional photo" style than wide-screen style. This should be addressed in a forthcoming update, however that is software and has nothing to do with the casing itself which is rugged yet comfortable enough to hold with one hand to take pictures or video underwater.

NOTE: Some screen protectors may interfere with functionality!
This housing actually works beautifully: the lenses seem to be top notch (though so far I've only tried the wide-angle), and it's sturdy and definitely waterproof. HOWEVER, when I first bought and started using it, I almost returned it because it just didn't seem to work: the buttons just didn't seem to respond consistently, especially the middle "shutter" button. After a lot of frustration I was on the verge of sending it back when it occurred to me that my screen protector (a BodyGuardz glass shield) may be the culprit. I went ahead and removed it, and VOILA! Perfectly working Watershot.SO, if you're having the same kind of trouble, check your screen protector! I'm not sure what they can do to the current design to account for this, but until then it's the only thing keeping this from 5 stars!
