No, a vacuum pump does not draw refrigerant out of the system, it draws a vacuum on an empty system to remove air and moisture. Moister boils at approximately 28" pounds of vacuum (or 87hg), at that point moister boils (vaporizes) and is drawn out of the system. To draw refrigerant out of a system you would need a refrigerant recovery machine.

The pump you ordered is for R-1234yf or R-134a which comes with a 1/2" RH male fitting and and a 1/2" LH male fitting. If you are using this with a manifold set for HVAC you will need a 1/2" female to 1/4" male fitting adapter FJC part number 6015.
