Such a cute set for the beach, my son loves them!!

Hard plastic that will last for a while, we have bought these before but lost in a move. LOVE this set, has lots of toys and very sturdy.

This is an excellent, high quality sand set! Our2 year-old grandson loves it! I initially ordered a basic, off-brand sand toys set from Amazon and was very dissappointed in the thin plastic bucket and shovels. This set is the opposite--everything is very thick and high quality. The toys are interesting and fun for him to play with. He can dig in our dirt and stir and hit the sides of the bowl to his heart's content without breaking anything :-) The bucket part can also be used as a shovel and doesn't bend or warp when scooping and dumping water.

Just got this today and my girls played with it in the bath right away since we won't be at the beach until next week. Very cute set. Thick, durable plastic that is nicely colored. I really like that everything fits nicely in the bucket with room to throw in a few extra things. The little turtle lid is a strainer. This was the favorite of the Melissa and Dough Seaside sets I bought for my girls. I also got the ice cream set, cupcake set, and sand hourglass. All of these sets work well together.Update 12/1/12:We purchased three Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Seaside sets: the Speck Seahorse Sand Ice Cream Set, the Sidekicks Sand Baking Set, and the Sidekicks Sand Cupcake Set to take on our 3 week vacation to the Pacific Northwest. The kids played with them almost every day at the beach and/or in the bath tub. Great quality. No broken pieces the entire trip or since we've returned home. Lots of creative play options. I was able to nest the ice cream set pieces inside of the baking set bucket, and store all of the smaller pieces from all three sets along with the cupcake pan in the netted carrier that comes with the cupcake set. The end result was that I was able to get all three sets and the hand full of play dishes (plates, cups, utensils) I brought entirely into one bucket and the net carrier. VERY convenient for storage in the car and carrying to/from the beach. If you were to only pick ONE, I would recommend this baking set as it's pieces seemed to be most universally versatile and so were the ones my girls played with most. But all three sets complement one another well.I do think these toys are a bit overpriced and should be closer to or just below $10, though, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

I love the quality of the toys. Durable enough for toddlers.

The bowl and utensils are sturdy and work well. The only fault that I have with this is that the lid/strainer doesn’t stay on well so the utensils spill out whenever we try to carry it or store it in the car. We usually just put it into a bigger bucket or bag so we don’t lose any parts. My kiddos love pretending to cook with this at the beach and at home. I wish I had gotten 2 while they were on sale. They are the best sand toys that I have bought.
