SureFire EP3 Sonic Defenders Filtered Earplugs, Double Flanged Design, Reusable

Other than their small size and my big hands, making them a little hard to get all the way in, I'm favorably impressed.And, I will probably learn to put them in easier as I get used to them.They have a depth adjustment, a lanyard, a small plastic case and even written instructions!:)

I got these as I was looking for earplugs that don't fall out, low profile (not getting caught in a helmet), while also not being hard or painful to wear.These earplugs manage to do all those perfectly and the filter cap function makes it so I don't even need to remove em.

I kind of hate to ding these, but for me anyway they'd ideally have a 2.5 rating, because they'd rate five stars in my left ear and one (or none) for my right. I have large ear canals, apparently VERY large since the maker of these claims medium fits most people, and even their large isn't large enough for me. I have to get the largest foam ear plugs I can find, which work fine but are a pain to put in and take out and take a minute to swell back up and seal after being rolled tight to insert, as I'm sure everyone is familiar with.I got these to use in Cowboy Action Shooting. For most of my shooting I use amplified muffs which I love, but I can't wear them either over or under a cowboy hat which is both required and, considering the Georgia sun that beats down where I live AND flying hot bass form my top-ejecting 1892 rifle, a necessity anyway for that sport. My problem is that the left one works great, but the right one keeps coming unsealed. It just isn't large enough to make and keep a seal in my right ear. My first match with these it came loose in the middle of shooting the rifle portion, which was followed by shotgun - four rounds of 12 gauge from a short coach gun double barrel. This happened more than once that day. I'd seal them good before I started shooting a stage, but by the time I got to the shotgun, which is both by far the loudest and the last on each stage after rifle and pistols, the right one would not be sealed. I literally had ringing in my right ear for a week after that match.I came back looking for an extra large, because I do like the design and if it would fit in my right ear as well as in my left they'd be great. But for me they're pretty useless. I just shot another match this weekend and ended up putting a foam ear plug in my right ear and leaving it there, and using the left one from this pair and just taking it out and putting in as needed and listening to people with one ear.I really don't know how to rate the three sub ratings. Comfort is great, at least for anything you stick in your ear that has to seal. Easy to use, well it's a bit finicky getting the little thingy that goes in your outer ear in place ;) - ok, very well, but look at the design and tell me you don't understand what I mean - seated but that's not TOO bad. Value for money would be great if both ears worked for me. As it is, not so good.

I have what I would like to call the normal ear size, my husband's ears are a little bigger, my kids ears are a little smaller. The EP3 is very large feeling in my ear, we sent these back and went with the EP4 size medium and it's much more comfortable. The EP4 works very well, drowns out a lot background noise so that you can focus on a conversation It was something that worked very well for me when I was having a chronic lyme flare up and having extreme sound sensitivity. I carry these on my keychain now. My husband takes a pare of the EP4s with him when he goes away.on business to drown out the noises at night as well as other people snoring. LOVE THEM, just didn't love the EP3's.

Of course it's no sordin or something. Still exteremely impressed how good these are engineered. They actually filter out load noises while allowing you to clearly hear surroundings and voices. All without any electronic parts, in earplug form factor, for less then 15 bucks. Insane

I work in the live music industry and these are my go-to earplugs. I wear them all day, every day that I work because you can open them up and hear the environment around you and then close them for ear protection. They are comfortable and don't fall out if you are doing physical tasks. They are also VERY EASY to clean. People don't think about that- cleaning their ear protection but it is really important. These are so easy to clean. They also come in different sizes which is key for me as my ears are a little smaller than most.I bought a mini carabiner and clip them to my vest when I am not wearing them so I don't lose them. Truth be told I have like 10 pairs in my car, house, kit, purse. Great product.

I was using regular foamies before picking these up and I much prefer these. I haven't tested them out on their own since I only go to an indoor range and use muffs over them, but they seem to block out almost just as much noise as the foamies while still being able to hear the amplified voices with my electronic muffs pretty well.

Using those with my Walker's Razor, its perfect!

Longer stem let’s the plug sit more comfortably compared to the issued version plus case is better and harder to lose

Je suis très surpris de la qualité en tout point et de la légèreté et du soulagement que ça me procure au niveau de l'atténuation du bruit ambiant comme par exemple dans des réunions dans un local surtout que je souffre régulièrement d'acouphènes et que le moindre bruit devient insupportable, bravo pour l'inventeur parce que cela n'empêche pas d'entendre les autres parler.

Excellent ear plugs for shooting muzzle loading black powder for reenactments. Because they are clear you hardly see them so fine to wear when safety is important but looking authentic is also a key aim. They are comfortable and with the plugs open you can still hear enough but stay safe. I'm very impressed with these. The little case is also handy to keep them about when needed.
