My son got this as a gift last Christmas and loves it. He would go in the backyard and explore. He liked to discover new things with the magnifying glass around look too see which way he was going. Only problem was, the retractable cord broke after about 6 months. I guess he just used it too much. After it broke, he hasn't really played with it much. He starts to and then remembers the cord is broken, and changes his mind.

Surprisingly good quality.
This exceeded our expectations for a "kid's" compass. It has so many features and our 6 year old loves it. She takes it camping, on bike rides and even just in the backyard. She loves the Morse Code feature.

Great gift for 6 yr old
He loved it. Ordered along with the binoculars and the vest for a fun Christmas present. Also ordered my 6 yr old a set of two way radios that were alot of fun for him to explore outside.

5 y/o Adores - Durable and a Great Value!
Our 5 y/o daughter has an adventurous spirit, and LOVES this. She doesn’t really understand the Morse code element yet, but there is plenty else to capture her attention.She was looking for shorts with belt loops the other day, just so she could wear the compass to school!

Nice but didn’t last long
We have a few BYD items and love them all. We were so excited about this compass and it seemed very durable. However, after moderate use by my 6 yo (dropped a few times) the compass does not seem to work correctly anymore. Very disappointed.

Great toy for curious kids!!
Bought as a gift for my grandson. Received it sooner than expected. Good quality toy for the money. Can't pry it out of my grandsons hand. I'm planning on buying the rest of the gear that goes with it.

Perfect kid’s stuff
