Animated? You know it
In this universe of Transformers, Ultra Magnus is the leader of the Autobots. Having him in the Leader Class scale came to no surprise.this toy is very accurate to the show and the paint job is awesome. The animated line is something different and deserves some appreciation for the toys.This toy is very fun to play with

Not G1, But Still Packing
Ultra Magnus is the leader of the Cybertron Elite Guard. Not only is the leader of that, but he is also the commander of all the Autobots which kind of suprised me. He is a very nice figure. He says three phrases from the show. He says "We must return the Allspark to Cybertron", "Ultra Magnus here", and "Don't be a hero Optimus, it's not in your programing". He is my favorite character in Transformers Animated (next to Shockwave). He is a definte yes for your collection. Although I would like to have the G1 Titanium Ultra Magnus, he fits the bill.

Impossible!
Like many other Transformers toys, this thing is like a Rubik's cube. The instructions are not detailed or clear enough, they lack words, and as I sit here, it's been 45 minutes of a begging 6-year-old and a frustrated 38 year-old Mechanical Engineer, trying to fulfill my son's excitement. And I'm a fairly patient person, but when Step 10 takes 30 minutes of back-and-forth, with diagrams that look wrong, the fun has ceased.I fail to understand - is this SUPPOSED to be challenge, a la Rubik's cube? Or is it supposed to be an easily enjoyable toy? I'm very close to telling my family don't ever buy my son any more Transformers. Last year, I threw three of them away in disgust and disappointment, because we could never get them to fully transform and roll on the floor properly.

Collector's Item. Not a toy.
I'm a mom of a 6 year old boy. The transforming is way too complicated for him. He's happy to play with it as a robot or as a tank but he is unable to transform it. It's probably great for older kids, or for a collectors item, but it's just not fun for him.

Ultra Magnus!
He's not Ultra Magnus for nothing...this is awesome figure! Pretty simple to transform, you just have to be aware of the sholder parts. I didn't get what the instructions showed but learned a couple transformation laters. If you love the show, get this!
