Ella

Bill Peet is one of my favorite kids book authors. I read these as a kid, got them for my kids, nieces and nephews and have put away a set for for my grandchildren someday. The stories and characters are always well designed and draw kids in. The illustrations are bright and colorful while still being somewhat simplistic giving them a lovable cartoon appearance. The stories have great moral and life lessons told in a fun way. These stories have stood the test of time and have been loved by many in my family

I loved this book as a child and just purchased it for my kids.

I grew up reading Bill Peet and watching classic Disney animations, so I am quite pleased to have this on my daughter's book shelf. It is very much in the theme of Dumbo, which she also loves.Everything you need to know about Bill Peet can be found in his autobiography, which is filled with wonderful pictures and makes an interesting book for older children (8+.) I recommend all of Peet's books.

Anything by Bill Peet is great and always has a moral. My 6 year old grand daughter loves all his books as did my 35 year old daughter when she was young.

I read all Bill Peet books to my kids when they were young and they continue to be the best! The stories and artwork are so cute. I also love that most of them rhyme. There are quite a lot of children's books out there that are, frankly, lame and boring. Makes one wonder how they became published at all! You will never be disappointed with Bill Peet's stories! Timeless!

This book is pretty "old school" - the farmer is pictured holding a shot gun and the text references "poking and hitting" Ella. As a mom I'd still read this to my girls as the ending message is solid (the grass isn't always greener) - but as a teacher I'd NEVER read it at school for the above reasons.

My son and I are huge fans of "The Kweeks of Kookatumdee" and I purchased Ella for a friend of his. The story is wonderful, the rhymes are beautiful, and needless to say it's become one of my son's friend's favorite books. This is definitely not the last of Bill Peet's books we will purchase.

I bought this book as a baby shower gift for a "basket full of books" for a friend. Bill Peet was one of my favorite authors/illustrators from childhood, and I knew exactly what I wanted to get when the book basket idea was presented. I did buy it used and should not have since it was very worn, but that just goes to show it was loved by someone else first! I ended up keeping it to read to my own kids and got a new copy for my friend.

I love reading Bill Peet's books to my kids. There is so much more story compared to most kids' books and it still completely holds their attention.

Bought this for our daughter named Ella who is aged 10. It's a great read and I know she will keep the book forever. Some great rhyming.

to learn a foreign language! It was a present for my girlfriends daughter Ella, to her first birthday! She is totally excited! The drawings are so cute! Very recommended!

Beautiful illustrations and story rhyme is fun to read. Ella is a new all time favourite!
