2 Samuel: Out of Every Adversity (Focus on the Bible Commentaries)

This is the best commentary on Samuel as evaluated by Ligonier Ministries, I can echo their analysis completely. Obviously, I use it for Bible Study.

Have not used this book as of yet but will begin the 2 Samuel Bible study shortly - toward end of January. We are just finishing up I Samuel for which I used Dale Ralph Davis' 1 Samuel: Looking on the Heart. I found it easy to understand and very thorough. It complemented my study book that we used in our small group and gave many additional insights and thoughts on the first book of Samuel.

One of the very best commentaries I have found. Too many are written without READING in mind; DRD doesn't forget that. I'm am bust trying to buy everything he wrote.

Every Bible student or teacher should have Dale Davis' books. Helped me immeasurably to prepare my lessons. Was tempted to just read his commentary to the class! Sylvia Hollinger

Another excellent commentary from Dale Ralph Davis. I absolutely devour his books and consequently have tons of notes written all over the margins of my Bible. Great book from a great teacher--and it helps that he gets me laughing while he's teaching!

Absolutely brilliant and well worth reading. This writer is an excellent communicator and any of his works are well worth buying.

Excellent. Very easy to read through but packed with good theology (and some humor). The author really captures the essence of the book as he develops the Davidic covenant and focuses on the main character: the faithful God who keeps His promises.

As usual Dale Ralph Davis kills it. Very good commentary.
