How to Play Black Gospel: For Beginners Paperback – March 6, 2006

I want to learn how to play gospel music. This book is for beginners who never took piano lessons. I can read music. I want to learn how to dothe runs, improvise, etc. I am a beginner as far as gospel is concerned. This book can't help me. I would like a more advanced book.

The kindle edition is simply a photo of the book, so you cannot change the font size to read it at the piano. Also it keeps referring to listening to the tape, which of course did not come with the kindle edition. They could have included a link to an MP3 or other audio file, but there was nothing. Feels like a real rip to me. I learned nothing and wasted my money.

The book is OK and simply written on it's own but there are a lot of "holes in the flow that would incorporate the CD. If you don't have the CD, the flow is kind of disjointed and incomplete.

Returned it. New Kindle. Could not get past screen to rate book to even open it to look at it!!!!! Also wanted me to link it to social networks. I don't have anyy. Grrrrrr.... so returned it. Have a new Kindle Touch. Would re-purchase it if someone can tell me how to get past all of that. Will purchase paper copy, I guess.

Author has a good teaching style and the book is written in laid back informal English so you don't get a headache from reading dry music theory. And if you can't read music don't worry because you will learn that along the way in this book.

My best learning tool ever! I love this book! I am looking forward to getting more of Dr. Jefferson's other earlier piano teaching books and cassettes which are out of print and are awesome tools to use in my practicing!

This book was a real find for someone who wants to learn how to play the piano and black gospel at the same time. It is very basic and easy to use.
