Goal Zero 12" MC4 Solar to 8mm Adapter Cable

I used this to attach a 100 watt HQST Monocrystalline Solar Panel to my Goal Zero Yeti 400. The MC-4 connectors matched up perfectly with the HQST panel's connnectors and the plug on the Goal Zero end plugged into the Yeti 400 with satisfying snap. The polarity was correct and it does a great job transferring power from the panel to the Yeti 400. Build quality is very good.

This works great to charge your Yeti from any 12 volt solar panel, most solar panels use this standard plug connector making this a direct power feed to your Yeti. I'm sorry to see the price has doubled thats why I only give it 4 stars. Buy a 100 watt solar panel, its cheaper but more powerful than Goal Zero solar panels.

Very handy and necessary but I have to plug it back in at least once a day. It just falls out. If I am driving down a gravel or bumpy road, forget about it. If this came with a 90degree angle connector, I think it would be better.

I love this thing. It totally help me out with my Goal Zero 12:50. I had it in my van have 300 watt solar panels that were recommended bye cycle Cruiser on YouTube. And this thing is awesome I just plugged it in and I'm plugged into my Goal Zero and everything works fantastic it's been almost 3 years now and it's never missed a beat yet. Not only do I recommend it I'm going to go buy me another one.

Sure would be nice if Goal Zero sold a cable so that I could collect a solar panel (which is what this battery is designed for) to the battery. Unavailable everywhere. I'd highly recommended anyone looking to buy the Goal Zero battery consider that there is no way to connect the battery unless you're willing to do electrical fabrication to splice cables and make it work. The mc4 to 8mm cables are unavailable EVERYWHERE.

This cable worked great for several weeks. After about 3 weeks of daily use, I noticed that I needed to pay very close attention to the position of the cable, specifically the angle it was inserted into the generator. I paired some Renogy 50W solar panels with a Goal Zero Yeti 400 generator/battery backup, and this adapter cable is necessary as the Yeti doesn't take the MC4 feed from the panels (MC4 ouput cables are standard on almost every set of solar panels bigger than 30W). So, the adapter is needed between the solar panels and the Yeti 400. After several weeks (again, of daily use), I started having to really work the position of the adapter in the generator to make sure it was feeding the power. (The Yeti has a great display/readout and blue LED indicator light to show when the generator is charging). I made sure it wasn't the input port in the generator. When I checked the cable very closely, I noticed that the housing in the single end was already starting to warp and fray a little bit, so I'm not sure how long it will even keep working. When it does, I'll order another cable and if this happens again, I will probably get a different generator because all the Goal Zero ones require this adapter to charge from a solar setup.

Mc4 connector fits good to my renogy panel. The 8mm connector fits good in my yeti 400, but does not click tight into the 30" 8mm extension.

Un ottimo cavo,molto robusto e pratico.Peccato che l'attacco da 8 mm non sia molto stabile,basta muovere un po il prodotto che si sta ricaricando per sganciarsi facilmente.Comunque nell'insieme valido.
