Still nascent field but good topography
Great aggregation of writers from consultants, startup founders, fintech hub reps. Most of the commentary is very general but the references allow for a much further deep dive. Great work from the authors .

This should not have been called a book as it's merely a collection of fintech related articles without much consideration of how a comprehensive fintech book should be. As such the 'book' is very repetitive in most basic concepts and implications of fintech. As a whole this is very shallow and unsyetematic. Totally not worth the money or time.

Everything you need to know about FinTech in one book !
The FinTech book is a compilation of visionaries, experts and contributing authors on the FinTech Revolution. It's being called a "revolution" because financial technology will greatly impact the global economy as well as our personal lives. Financial inclusion for example will enable to "unbanked" to become part of the global economy by using their mobile phones or smartphones. "Bitcoin" cryptocurrency will provide an alternative to existing currencies and "Blockchain" (distributed ledger) will make the need for central authorities or clearing houses obsolete and at the same time reduce transactional costs to a fraction of the current systems in place. All these FinTech advancements will lead to a more efficient and transparent financial system around the world to the benefit of consumers, businesses and governments alike. FinTech will displace traditional legacy banking and brokerages with a more advanced system for financial transactions while at the same time reducing a costs and increasing efficiencies. This book covers all the above topics and gives great insights into the disruptive forces of FinTech coming our way.A must read for everyone interested in their financial future !

Good overview of FinTech
This book is a good overview of UK/EU FinTech with a very limited coverage of the US FinTech. It is focused mostly on banking, payments, money transfer and insurance, but it pays very limited attention to the next huge sector to disrupt - wealth management.

Theoretical, not for entrepreneurs
Not as good as expected. Very few recommendations on how to participate in the fintech market. I found it very theoretical, full of large scale fintech companies examples, but lacking any guidelines for startups or entrepreneurs.

Three Stars
A bit dry in explaining the Fintech trends.

Many chapters are written as if they are PR messages to promote their authors as consultants
My background in this field was just a short article that I read in The Economist on May 2016 about Fintech. I was very disappointed to reveal that this book adds almost nothing new. Even worse: many chapters are written as if they are PR messages to promote their authors as consultants.

Great book but ANNOYING to read!
Great book for somebody trying to enter the FinTech industry or anybody who has an interest. Gives a holistic and insightful overview of trends and key points in the industry. However, the book is very difficult to read while sat on the sofa or in bed because it’s so wide with 2 columns to each page. Seems like a petty point, but makes it very uncomfortable to navigate page to page.

Does not say much
The book is a collection of very short articles written by different authors(2-4 pages each) on different applications of fintech. Overall it is all very basic and it is way too fragmented.

Awesome!
This is on end of the best fintech books I have read in the recent past. Amazing insights of the industry, perspectives and drawing parallels with other segments. Great read! Highly recommend for anyone from BFSI whose going through transformation.

Breadth of information, but lacking depth
Kudos to the authors for their approach to compiling the opinions of FinTech experts. That said, the challenge with this book is that it doesn't follow a methodical thinking of an author due to the fact that every chapter is an opinion of a different individual. The book claims that it's a holistic guide to understanding FinTech. I would argue that it's not there just yet.Buyers, if you want to read opinions about different people then this book is a good buy for you.
