California Fan Palm 10 Seeds - Washingtonia

The seeds arrived in good shape, as advertised. There was a nice note inside with growing instructions. It was written in a bit of broken English, but it was a cute note. Now I'll wait and see if the seeds germinate!

I planted 10 seeds in 10 pots. Kept them in my shed for the last 40 days. Not one seed sprouted. Since then I ordered seeds from a different vendor and planted them and within 2 weeks all 3 seeds have sprouted. Will keep the ten for a couple more weeks just in case they decide to do anything. After that will use the pots to plant from the other vendor.

i received this in the mail very quick nicely packaged, with those popcorn things that keep it safe. Altho i just got it in the mail i cant judge yet. i have a nice growing kit(Burpee Seed Starter) and i just planted them today(Aug 14,2011) and make sure NOT to plant them more than 1/2 an inch or they wont germinate! i will update this post in two weeks.

These are the only 2 of the pack that are growing. They have been under an indoor grow light since the end of January and have only grown a foot. They are outside now in 85 degree weather. Do these look like California palm sprouts?

Description stated "All seeds include germination and growing instructions." Package arrived with seeds sealed in plastic but there was no documentation. I will look online for instructions. If the seeds germinate I will update this review.

All growing like magic

No growth waste of money

I placed 2 seeds in a seedling pod, used 5 pods in total. Kept everything very moist (with a1/4" of water in the tray at all times). Kept them above 60F and placed them under LED plant lights for 12 hours a day. 5 have sprouted so far! It's just been two weeks since I planted, so I must say these are great seeds.
