Less the story of a dog - more the author's philosophy
This book was more the philosophy & opinions of the author than a "Heartwarming True Story of One Dog's Rescue from Death Row". Between a few thought provoking points on the nature of dogs & their relationships with humans, were disparaging opinions of HSUS, rescue groups, police, etc. At times, a sprinkling of thinly veiled accusations of wrong doing are included. This reader was disappointed to be left with the opinion Bandit's rescue from death row had more to do with the author proving herself right and providing another forum for her philosophies than it did with saving Bandit's life.

dog book
while I love reading stories about dog rescues.. this one is kind of boring. unfortunately. I put it down unfinished and read three others. If I run out of something to read, I'll think about picking up where I left off, maybe.

Tough to follow
I don't know if it's a good story or not because I couldn't keep up with the way she writes. The author seems to write as she thinks, and it was just hard to make sense of it all. I may pick it up to try again another time, but it was like reading a kaleidascope. I am disappointed though because I'd really like to know Bandit's story.

I was so disappointed in this book, author hardly talks about the dog.
I gave up on the book after page 80. This author was all over the place and she hardly talked about Bandit. When I gave up was when she started getting into a math lesson. I don't even want to donate this book because I don't want to disappoint another potential reader.

I didn't get it
The author is a very knowledgable and gifted trainer that passed on too soon and she is terribly missed. However, I didn't understand the book. I thought I was going to get an inside scoop on training the dog and the legal system, and this was not the case. The book went on and on about philosophy and was not easy to follow and I felt it was tedious and boring rather than entertaining. I feel guilty saying this but readers should know who they are getting. I much preferred the book about the Vick case or the story of oogy by Larry Levin that are informative and heartwarming.
