Cute story, good for a girl about to have a new baby brother.
Sturdy book, nice illustrations and story. Words are very simple though, more for a child that is under 3 or 4? My 6 year old likes the book and it gives her an idea of what to expect with a new brother. He is a baby at first, cries, etc; but soon is more fun, crawling and playing. Ends with the brother learning from Big Sis and building forts together, sharing a bunk bed ( he is maybe about 3 or 4 at the end). Good book overall.

Great book, great illustrations, great rhymes!
We received this as a gift for my daughter as she was going to become a big sister. She loves the book. It's simple with easy to remember rhymes. We decided to buy it to gift to our friends' daughter who is also going to be a big sister. It has great illustrations as well. My 4 year old daughter already knows the book pretty much verbatim. We also have 2 other Big Sister books that we bought and this is by far our favorite one. Highly recommended.

It's the best book ever!
We have read this book so many times !!! It's the best book ever . The illustrations are adorable and the reading is so much fun !! Never get tired of this book , for now it's our favorite because every page starts a conversation . It's confirming how smart , knowledgable and wonderful she is and how lucky baby brother will be to have her in his life. This book makes her feel special and important. After all now she knows that even though little brother will be cute and getting attention , he really can't do anything . He has a boring life and needs her to teach him everything !! She is Little Miss Big Sis.

Storyline is pretty bare (focused more on rhythm and rhyming than telling/informing story about what a new baby mean to a big sis) and in some cases hard to explain to a 3 year old (The phrases waiting, waiting, anticipating with pictures of a girl standing in front of a calendar). That being said, my 3 year old loves it, remembers many of the phrases and can incorporate the story into conversations about her baby sibling coming. I'd recommend one with a bit more information to help bring the concept to life and use them together.

It's a great book. Fun and easy bedtime read
Bought this for my 5 year old daughter to announce to her she was finally getting her wish. It's a great book. Fun and easy bedtime read. It's not a detailed this is what babies look like and do. It's not detailed in the how mommy's belly is changing. It's just a fun look from a child's point of view of how life is changing with a younger sibling. It's covers the fun times (playing, coloring) and the not so fun things (hair pulling, crying). This is a great book and I'd recommend it.

Excellent big sister book
Very happy with the engagement my 3 year old soon to be big sister had with this book. As a teacher we did a picture walk before reading then discussed every page after the first read through. I appreciate that it includes some not so nice things like crying and hair pulling to give a bit of reality to big sis of what to expect and allow us to have a dialog about those expectations and solutions to handle them should they arise.

Great for little kids expecting a sibling
Bought this for my step daughter (6) when I found out I was pregnant. She LOVED it, made her aware of what will happen waiting for the baby and after she was born. Our baby is a year old now step daughter is 7 and this is still her favorite bed time book! She makes us read it to her after she reads it herself. Definitely recommend it for anyone with a daughter 4-8 and pregnant with another. I think over 8 it might be too simple of a book. Just my opinion though

Adorable big sister book!
I bought this for my friend's 3-year-old daughter to give her at the small shower we had for the 2nd baby on the way. Of course she wanted to read it right away, and I was blown away with how much emotional impact they writer and illustrator got in to such a simplistic story. Minimal text and illustrations--my favorite kind of picture book--but they absolutely nailed the relationship between siblings. This will be my go-to gift for future big sisters!!

Great conversation starting point about a new sibling.
My 2 year old loves this book. It is a great opening for the first conversation about the arrival of a sibling. Minimal story as such but more topics of conversation with colourful and easy to understand images.

Perfect for boys too!
I absolutely love this book. My son loves it too and relates to Little Miss Big Sis" after becoming a big brother. It's funny, it's sweet and the illustrations are beautiful. Little Miss reminds him how to be a great big brother and empathises with him about it being difficult at times. I'm an elementary teacher and have read thousands of picture books and it's one of my favourites.
