Incredible sound, especially for the price
(Don't ask how many) Years ago I visited a hi-fi shop where I listened to a variety of home theater speaker systems.Polk, Harman Kardon, JBL, plus the "normal brands" (Sony, Panasonic, etc). Then I heard a set of Klipsch and I knew that's what I wanted. Needed something compact, so ended up with the Bose AM10 system. It worked, but I spent many dozens of hours tuning it across multiple generations of receivers without ever getting it to sound quite right.Decades (sigh) later, I finally got tired of the lack of highs, lack of lows, and mud throughout. I'd not tracked home theater pricing so I was pleasantly surprised when I found it was possible to get a entry level set of speakers for such a reasonable price. My speakers are paired with a slimline Marantz AV receiver. For music, they're supported by a TruAudio CS-12 powered sub. For movies, I add in the Bose AM10 center and surround speakers driven directly by the Marantz (no bass module).Music. Ho-ly cow. Crisp! Clean! Details I didn't know existed, completely lost on the old system, popped out. Highs are precise; you can hear the "tick" of a the drumstick hitting an open high-hat, the pick against a guitar string, with enough detail to hear it vibrate rather than sounding a cluttered mess. You won't miss detail in the bottom, either.Bass is clean and deep, you can hear the thump and vibration. They lack a little kick; some genres require a sub to push out punch the music deserves.Seriously. If you're looking to listen to music and are on a moderate budget, look no further.Movies. The Bose speakers in the mix make this harder to judge. Even so, the details really come out. There were underlying sounds I'd never heard that popped out on these Klipsch from all over the range. Highs come through cleanly during high-volume sections, details are still clear in low-volume sections. You'll absolutely want a powered sub for LFE; these Klipsch do well presenting low frequency but lack the kick needed for an immersive experience.Overall, I'm amazed what can be had for less than $500. For music, this speaker pair blows away the AM10 in every possible way. It's shocking how good music can sound on decent hardware. For movies they're awesome, but you'll want (and need) to make a larger investment to get the full 5.1 setup. What's Good: Crisp, clear highs; clean bass. Solid construction. Easy setup. Great looking. Easy to drive.Less Good: Smallish woofers need SW/LFE support. Crisp highs mean receiver / amp hiss come through clear. What To Know:Misc details, mostly because I found this frustratingly hard to determine:- Powered sub with low-pass filter / crossover set to 80hz. Line out to SW is +10db, volume on the SW amp 50%.- Marantz NR1608 with 50w RMS. No speaker underdrive nor amp overdrive issues. Bear in mind SW crossover, above.- Not running bi-amp (yet). I might when I upgrade the rest of the speakers.- 16 gauge wire with banana plugs on Amp side; speakers don't have banana plug connections.

Perfect Speakers for a small to medium room!
These are hands down the best speakers I’ve heard personally. These Klipsch RP-250f speakers were bought Used - Like New and indeed they are like new! They came in the original boxes, they were wrapped better than any new set of speakers i had bought before, there are NO marks or signs of use, and most importantly they sound Unbelieveable. I bought the RP-250f set because my room is small at about 10x10 with a 9 foot ceiling. I knew when they were paired with my Onkyo TX 8270 receiver they’d have more than enough power at 100watts per channel as that’s what they’re rated to handle. I was thinking I might need a sub due to the 5.25” Drivers but I Was Wrong! For my little room and my music tastes (soft rock all the way to speed metal) these thing Punch through with Crystal Clear and Tight Bass. There is Absolutely NO distortion at ANY listening level. Yes i’ve had it way louder than my ears can handle for test purposes and these RP-250f Speakers not only handle the power of the Onkyo, They sound better the louder they get which is not true for most other speakers. I wish my ears could listen that loud without being hurt because the sound is Mind Blowing! But Not To Worry... These speakers sound absolutely fantastic at low volumes too. Every song I listen to is so clear I hear things I haven’t heard before in songs i’ve heard thousands of times throughout my life. Buy them if you have a small to medium room, hook them up to a quality receiver, and feed them quality audio files. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Great Choice! Well Worth the Investment
I've been enjoying these speakers for about two weeks now. I am extremely happy with the way they look and the way they sound. I am hearing more detail and clarity in my music than ever before. That is partly because I upgraded to a Parasound pre-amp and power amp (instead of an integrated receiver) a couple months ago. But I initially used the Parasound components with my other speakers (Bose 901). That said, the difference in sound between the Bose and these Klipsch very is noticeable. I hear so much of the high end that I was clearly missing before.Listening to TV with the optical connection is amazing. You hear things like people shoe's scraping as they walk across a floor and the little sounds involved in doors opening and closing. It's really something. I'd happily recommend these speakers.I owned my Bose for 27 years. I hope to own these for the next 27.

Big sound for the size.
I bought these RP-250F's to round out my Klipsch Home theater. RP-8000F fronts, RP-450C center and RP-140sa Height and Atmos setup. Using these for Surround Speakers is the final touch that really brings my sound experience to life for Movies and Music. At 96 db SPL, they are very easy to drive like most all Klipsch speakers. I am sure that many people would be pleased using them as Front's driven by an amp with 100 WPC or less which they are rated at. Someone here suggested the need for 150 WPC which is ridiculous for a 96db rated speaker. Audyssey set both speakers to about -2.0 db after a 3 day break-in. With my new Denon AVRX-4700H the surround and Atmos seem to get better day by day. The Movie experience is truly exciting. I like the smaller profile compared to the RP-8000F's which works well for surround and also looks good.
