Also not that bright- a bit disappointed.
Just ok. Couldn't find these with a recent manufacture date. Had to settle on 2009 which limits the lifespan of these. Couldn't find these any more recent than that. Also not that bright- a bit disappointed.

Gen III 5906 not quite right elevation
These are nice and bright (or bright enough -- I have nothing to compare them to), but the elevation is off by a little.

Bright sight, but sick about it.
I purchased this to replace a set of Trijicons on my Smith & Wesson 5903. As far as the Tritiums go, it's a nice set of sights. Once I got the slide jigged up in the press and the old sites off, I mic'd the new sites against the base of the old ones. The front front was spot on. So I ,measured the rear sight and it was a tad bit thick so I gently filed it to specs. Paying careful attention to the springs, I started pressing the sight in and from the angle I was watching all looked good. When I removed the slide from the press I was highly dismayed. The casting of the sight is wrong...or it simply does not look like it is the right sight for the 5903. The casting will not allow the sight to lay flush on the rear of the slide, and it's even angled at the sight bed. Just simply not molded for this gun. I'm also bummed because I know if I sent them back they would refuse because I have filed/fitted the base. I don't know if I got the wrong set, or if it was packaged wrong, but I have a mess here and being on SS just can't order a new set. Check it VERY closely for fit, don't trust it is right.

Nice and bright, good basic night sights
Holy Bright sights, Batman! If these things threw any more light, they'd trash my night vision! The base on the rear sight needed a touch of filing to fit into the slot on my S&W 5906, but very very little. The sights fit snugly, and are nice and flush with the top of the slide for easy holstering/drawing. I'd like to have gotten an adjustable set, but since I occasionally use the 5906 as a Carry Gun, I didn't want to go with full-blown competition level sights. These are perfect for the task, very easy to pick up in low light or complete darkness, and are true to point-of-aim for elevation up to about 50 yards.

Good sights
Bright sights, nice and solid. I got used to Big Dots so the front post takes some practice to pick up. The only sights I could find for my 5903.

Really nice sights!
I ordered these for a 5906 I traded for. It was a department issue and I traded for it. It was in good shape other than holster wear on the grips and the sights were old and faded. These and a new grip make in third gen Smith look like new! I just ordered a set for my Glock 27.. They are really bright and look great in the dark. I reccomend Meprolights to anyone. I have had Trijicons and Meprolights both and I like Meprolight better. They stay newer looking longer.

Best night sights I've tried
In the last year I've tried Truglo, Trijicon, and these Meprolight sights. These are the brightest of the three which is great for my tired old eyes. They installed reasonably easily, I pushed them on without having to file them. If the front sight only had an orange ring around it....oh well, I guess I can't have everything.....
