Great value with included mic clip!
The stand I received does not look like the photo here. Mine includes dimpled molded rubber anti-slip areas on both the vertical height adjustment collar and end of the boom arm that really stand out and improve the aesthetics compared to other lower priced mic stands. The included mic clip was a surprise and increases this stands bang for your buck. It still is made with a lot of plastic and I can see down the road where if not careful the top tension nut for the boom arm could strip if over tightened. But again this is not unusual in this price range and is not a reason to knock a star off.Overall it works and would be considered a good starter stand for anybody.

Looks good
Nice mic stand . Appears to be of good quality at a very good price . The included mic clip is suitable for Shure SM58 size microphone .

So you wanted an affordable mic stand....
This is in fact a cheap mic stand. But considering the price, well worth it. If you were looking for a simple mic stand to hold near upright this is a perfect product. When utilizing the "boom" aspect, it worked all right with an SM57 mic, but as soon as a heavier mic (I used an NT-1A for recording acoustic guitar) was used, the arm couldn't quite hold it up, hence the 4/5 review. But again you get what you pay for and then some with this very affordable mic stand.

Very bad stand
Very cheaply made, the cord clip broke on the first use. Where the telescoping portion of the stand attaches, it does not tighten and flops and spins all around. The microphone holder itself is not secure/microphone will fall out, the telescoping portion does not tighten. It was that way on the two I purchased. Definitely returning. I wasn’t expecting full on pro gear at this price point but wasn’t expecting them not to work right out of the box. Total garbage.

Mic stand
The mic stand is not as sturdy as I hope it would be, but it definitely gets the job done for what I’m using it for. I would recommend it for a budgeted Purchase until a better one can be Acquired

Cheap POS but ok in a pinch if you can’t find anything else
I bought this because my local stores are all out of stock of decent mic stands. Shipping was fast and it came undamaged. There is zero setup necessary. Just pulled the thing straight out of the box, attached boom arm and that was it.Unfortunately because it’s extremely lightweight it’s not possible to extend the boom arm out with my condenser mic attached. Regardless of how tightly I turn the knob on the boom arm, it inevitably starts to fall down.If you don’t position the tripod legs perfectly (with 1 leg directly underneath your mic) the weight of your mic will cause the stand to fall, potentially damaging your mic.It works fine if you stand it up straight and extend the arm upwards but if you intend to use it to record whilst sitting down, particular with a heavier mic, you’ll need to make some mods and adjustments for it to be useable. I suggest a counterweight of some kind. Just a bag with some random stuff in it will do. It’ll look ugly but it works.Lastly it comes with a European size thread on the end but the mic holder has a plastic adapter insert. It’s not ideal as any mic will probably destroy the soft plastic thread but on the bright side it’s better than nothing I guess. If I hadn’t thrown away the box I would have probably returned this but for now it’s being used to hold an MXL 990 complete with ugly bag of flour hanging off the back of the boom arm.

Absolute rubbish.
Impossible to tighten the boom-bar tight enough to hold a mike at much of an angle. Therefore, can't have mike in front of face when working on a keyboard. Waste of money.

it's a good stand. It works well and is light/easy enough ...
For the price, it's a good stand. It works well and is light/easy enough to carry around. However, it won't handle heavy mics. If the boom is extended, you need a *really* light mic to keep it from tipping over and may have to tighten the dial a *lot* (depending on the weight) to keep it from pivoting down.If you decide to throw a heavy mic on it anyway with the boom extended, you'll need to weigh down the legs with something heavy (weights, sandbags, etc) to keep it from tipping. Alternately if the boom is oriented directly over one of the legs, it will hold up on it's own but if someone slightly bumps it or rotates it, it'll come crashing down.5 stars because it's really quite good for it's price range, and being nice and light is great for travel. It would be easily trounced by more expensive stands though, and if you're using heavier mics, you'll definitely want to look at something with a heavier base.
