Easy to use and to carry.
This does the job without overtaxing the mind with programming. It is quick to set up and use, and sturdy enough to carry about on your person.

no better Very expensive
For days trying to receive single transmission; Live 20 miles from international airport; Indeed small in size! For a beginner manuel is worthless There is a port for external antenna ,but no reference to what might be appropriate Forty dollars later after purchasing, and a lot of research,no better Very expensive mistake

Does what it's designed to do.
Pro's: Easy to use once it's set up. Great for ATC/GRD comms. as well as storm spotter freqs on the 2 meter band. Low battery alarm. Great for outdoor use having the FM broadcast band and NOAA weather channels. For best results use a BNC coupled external antenna when in your vehicle as it does come pakaged with a SMA to BNC adaptor. Con's: Does not cover AM broadcast band, but is not a huge deal breaker unless you enjoy talk radio. A little over priced for what it does in my opinion. Not weather/water resistant. Battery access cover can be a bear to get off plus you have to remove the belt clip to do so which is a trick in of itself. Be fore warned it likes the battery's, carry an extra pack of AA's with you if you use it alot, uses three AA's at a time. It would be a solid 4-5 stars if it had battery charger capabilities, AM broadcast receive, and be weather resistant for the price listed.

and its performance is quite good at a reasonable price
I've mainly used the scanner for the aviation band, and its performance is quite good at a reasonable price. Other convenient bands are the weather channels in the 162 MHz range, and the commercial FM broadcasts in the 87 to 108 MHz range.
