Perfect, improved, drop-in replacement for my old KLH ASW10 home theater sub. Very happy with it.
I had an older KLH ASW10 sub that failed after 7 years and sat around for another 7 years. When I finally got around to it I considered four options: 1) reparing the plate amp, 2) switching to an external Fosi amp, 3) junking it and buying a new one, and 4) replacing the plate amp. Even though this a $200 fix to a sub with a $150 replacement cost, I went with the last option because this plate amp from Dayton is a perfect drop-in replacement - right down to the size, type, position, and number of screws. I found no other plate amp anywhere with the exact dimensions I needed for the ASW10. (It's almost as if Dayton built this specifically for the ASW10.) Truly, all I had to do was take out the screws, connect the new amp to the speaker, and replace the screws. This was well worth the extra $50 in convenience alone. The sub sounds great, has better speaker connections, more power (250w vs 120w), and a bigger heat sink. I can run the amp at 25% gain and still get good volume. Everything about it works and my old KLH sounds better than ever. Working sub; less landfill.

Good replacement for B&W Sub.
Good replace for my B&W sub. The holes lineup but needed to be drilled out a little bigger. Sounds good.

Excellent Dayton Audio SPA250 - 250 Watt Subwoofer Amp. Excellent Calue !
Awesome Crisp Clean Power: Dayton Audio SPA 250 - 250 Watt Subwoofer Amp. This unit is used in-line with my REAR ... Speakers 'B' Speaker Wires. Very Simple Set-Up: Speakers L/R Input and Output ... and a Dedicated Single Pair of Speaker Wires [16"] for the Subwoofer Speaker. I am using a Pyle PDIWS28 - Dual 8" In-Wall unit which can Peak at 600-watts ... and Continuous usage @ 300-watts. The SPA250 has GAIN / Frequency Response / and Phase switches - adjustments. The 'Auto on/off switch is left on at all times ... shuts the unit down when power from the Amp is turned off. Very useful feature. A Bass Boost Switch on top --- Selects a bass boost filter with +6dB @ 35Hz. It Allows the user to add boost to the low end response. Nice feature. This unit is designed to fit within a Subwoofer cabinet / enclosure. Mine is built into a Custom Rear [back of family room] Enclosure with L / R Rear Speakers. The Bass resonating from the power of this amp nicely Compliments / Enhances the Front / Main [Bose] Subwoofer. The entire room is literally filled with Music. Front Speakers are positioned lower to the floor ... rear speakers are closer to the ceiling ... total coverage at all volume levels. I chose this unit because my Receiver does not have a Rear or Second Subwoofer connection. This is truly an Awesome Amp ... Simple and Efficient ! Worth the Money -- Excellent Value !

Don’t buy
Worked for a month and then dead. Power light won’t come on. Power fuse is fine, but transformer dead or onboard fuse blown. Either way I paid $200 for it to last just over the 30 day return period.

Perfect Fit for Older BIC America D1210R Subwoofer
This amp fits perfectly/exactly into the cutout of an older BIC America D1210R model subwoofer. Even the mounting screw holes line up perfectly, which is likely more than a coincidence. Much cheaper than purchasing an entire new sub, as the "venturi" cabinet and 12" speaker were still like new. Looks to be of higher quality than the OE BIC America amplifier with a significantly larger heat sink. Not sure if the 250W output is as high as the OE unit, but sounds fine; plugged it in and worked perfectly. Hopefully it lasts much longer than the OE unit. It appears that the OE unit failed due to overheating, as the internal PCB shows what appears to be heat damage.

Powerful deep bass!
The Dayton SPA250 is a nice powerful sub-amp with a good low end punch, not just for music, but movies, it delivers a clean low end without being to "on your face" sort of speak. You can feel the bass coming thru clean without any major volume increase to help it. The controls are simple, and the connectivity to either an existing subwoofer or a new one is pretty easy to do. However, if you are replacing your plate amp for this one, be ready to customize the existing open, as this amp is a bit larger on the back. But if you are savy and got the tools, is not a big deal. Anyway, great amp for the money!

A major upgrade to Polk PSW-505
Had to reconfigure the hole in the cabinet which took a sabre saw and some glue. Performance is way way better than the polk amp. It is much tighter sounding with way more power and it blends in more seamlessly than it ever did before. It is in a 40'x40' shop with a 16' ceiling backing up 3 sets of classic Advent speakers (2 pairs on tuble amps , one pair on SS amp) and it sounds better than it ever has. If this amp, which weighs way more than the original amp, keeps working as it is now i will continue to be glad i went this route over purchasing a whole new sub.

Good power bad durability
I purchased one and it lasted 2 months, needs lots of room and lots of air. I rebuilt my bandpass keeping the second one separated and it's sounds great. Needs lots of air moving across it to stay cool. Goes into protection easy on slight power draw. Make sure to get the protection plan I learned my lesson. I am using a 250w polk sub in a 4th order bandpass in a ported audio closet , sounds fantastic Hopefully moving the amp out of the box will extend the longevity. I'm very pleased with the performance , durability is questionable

Remplacement carte B&W

A great way to upgrade a sub-woofer from a passive crossover network to an active.
Years ago I bought a sub-woofer (Braun LW-1) before there were amplified sub-woofers. The stereo audio power for the left and right channels go to the sub-woofer first. A passive cross over network in the sub-woofer separated the highs and lows and the highs branched off to the satellites from there. Lately I bought audio video receiver (Pioneer VSX-1124K ) with a sub-woofer output on it. I wanted to convert my system from a passive crossover to an active crossover. This purchase was my opportunity to do this. In the manual there was a warning that some systems might have a background hum, but mine is silent. I am pleased to say that the active crossover gave the system a a more refined sound, noticeable with high quality sound tracks. I am able to use my old sub-woofer which still works well. If had purchased new sub-woofer to replace what I have got, it wouldn't sound as good (my sub-woofer is good for 18 herz). For the price I payed for this item, it was a good deal. I recommend this item.

Powers my small Lab12 home theatre sub perfectly. Knobs are quite sturdy. The power switch (on/off/standby) can be a little tighter, but still works fine.

Clone of my NHT Supersub original amp!
My surround sound setup includes NHT SuperZero, SuperOne and Supersub speakers. I love the clear sound they produce and their piano black finish. I was a bit distressed when my SuperSub developed a loud hum since I knew that it would be costly to replace. I decided to look online to see if I might be able to replace just the amp portion and found the Dayton Audio plate amp series. The size, specs and appearance of the SPA250 looked closest to the original amp in my SuperSub so I ordered one. When it arrived I was surprised to find it is almost identical to the NHT SuperSub amp right down to having the screw-holes in exactly the same position. I didn't examine the internals of either amp but from the exterior they appear to be clones. The SuperSub sounds the same with the new Dayton Audio SPA250 as well. I'm happy to have my SuperSub back in operation in such a seamless way, However due to the failure of my original identical appearing NHT amp I am changing the way that I use it. Previously I left the sub permanently set to "auto-on" even though I used it rarely. It developed a hum even though it was in "sleep" state. It appears that some components are electrified and degrade during "sleep". I still have the sub set to "auto-on" but i is now powered by a circuit that is active only when I'm in the room. I'm hoping that this will extend the life of this replacement.

I've got three of these now. They are good amps. Reliable. For my home theater. I'm running two of these amps with four 18-in subwoofers set up as infinite baffle. You can't tell me there's a better option out there.
