Jensen MSX60SR Coaxial Waterproof Speakers - 6.5", 130 Watt

Do not recommend buying these speakers for a new install in a boat. The cut out and the bolt pattern is larger than most common 6.5 speakers. Once you install the speakers in a new install, you will pretty well be limited to these speakers, because of their size. There are some other speakers available with the size and bolt pattern, but they are expensive. These speakers are better suited as a replacement speaker. They give good sound and will hold up for a while. I usually get about four or five years out of them before they deteriorate.

This was a perfect match and color to my stock speakers in my 2018 Bayliner 195DB. I’m NOT mechanically inclined by any means, but I can tell you that this is one of the easiest jobs that I’ve done to date. 4 screws out, unplug old speaker, plug in new speaker, 4 screws in. Done in less than 5 minutes and works like a charm. Since this was only sold as a pair, I now have a fresh backup for the next speaker that starts acting up!

I bought these speakers to replace the identical ones on my boat. The original ones didn't sound that great and the new ones don't sound that great either. I needed and wanted the identical speaker so I could reuse the special angled mounting housings that came with the boat and were unique to this exact speaker. Note that the speakers do not come with this special angled mounting housing but it may be something you can purchase separately. The problem that I had with the original speakers (this exact model) is that the tweeters came loose from the grill and fell back into the speaker. The plastic grills were also broken from just normal boat use and I am not hard on my equipment so that should tell you that these grills are not strong enough. So, I guess I regret buying these. I think there are better sounding speakers for less money that will hold up better. For me it was more about aesthetics and not wanting to have to modify anything to make other speakers fit. Guess that was a mistake.

First- read the description- the speaker grills are silver. The images on amazon appear white- what I thought I was getting (my bad).Second- the QC control at Jensen needs some improvement- the wire routing to the tweeters not set properly in the channel designed for it- hence the speakers did not sit flush on the mounting surface but rocked. I used 5-1/4 dia mounting hole. Took me a while to discover the cause- if you crank down on the screws without providing relief sooner or later boat vibration is going to break or short these "pinched" wires. I resolved by grinding the speaker box hole surface to clear. Hint- use lipstick on the wire to see where to grind.

Decent speakers for the money. I have 4 of these and a JL Audio 10" sub in a Bayliner 185. Sounds good even at cruising speeds. Have to wait and see how they hold up over time.

They match the speakers in my Tahoe Q5i. I installed them in custom enclosures under the dash areas of the boat. Matches well and sound better than the cheap indoor/outdoor Boss cabinet speakers I had previously. Match well to the Jensen marine head unit. Wish they were less pricey. Jensen is middle of the road audio gear at best and this seems like a premium price.

I got these to replace the same speakers on a boat. They sound decent and were easy to replace - two wires and four screws - took me maybe 20 minutes. I'd definitely get these again.
