Awesome book!!! Why oh why did I wait so long to read it?
This was a very good book, but then, it’s a Lora Leigh book, so of course it’s good. As far as editing, didn’t notice any errors. As far as sex scenes, delectable. As far as the hero and heroine, very good together. On thing I didn’t get, how could these men, Zack, Slade. & Jazz, grow up with Kenni, best friends of her brothers, and he fooled by colored hair and colored contacts? Granted, 10years had passed, she as 16 at the time she supposedly “died” so she’s 26 now. I look at pictures of m at 16 and 26, and even with colored eyes and hair, you could still tell it was me...and supposedly these guys help out with this ultra secret “Kin”? That as the only weak part I saw in the book. The culprit? Of allegedly killing Kenni and her mother...that was an easy one also to see early on...Despite these weak areas in the plot Line, I still enjoyed the ride. This book is said to be #1 in the series and cam count in 2015...really though, it’s book #2 in the series. The original #1 book in series came out in 2006 and was put out by Samhain publishing. It’s Jessie & Slade’s book, for those that go looking for it like I did. It’s hard to come by. I was able to order a paperback copy through Amazon for $10 new for a book that originally sold for $7.99. There are used book of it also available for $2.55+$3.99+S&H...I do hope that book #1 is eventually released in Kindle form. I imagine it wasn’t due to Ms Lora Levy’s previous publisher still hold the rights to it. I did find I found something missing n regard’s to Jessie & Slade’s story which is why I went searching. I never hardly ever would pay $10 for a book, but especially one that retails at $7.99!!! Lora Leigh is one exception...shoot, I very rarely pay $7.99 for a kindle book, but I’m going to, in order to buy book #3 in series Dirty Little Lies which is Gracie’s and Zack’s story. You read a little bit about Gracie at the end of this book. Like Kinni, I’m a guessing she has held a flame for Zack for a while... I’m sure it will definitely heat up. I have read Lora Leigh’s Nauti series which is delicious. The “Men of Summer” series kind of reminds me of the Nauti boys. I have also read Lora Leigh’s Elite Ops series which is also very good and I highly recommend. So much so, I own many of the books in both paperback and kindle...and yes, some of those rarely bought $7.99 books were some of Lora Leighs. Her books are always a delight. Very sensual with alpha males, strong females, and a tad bit of mystery and suspense...oh yeah, and loyalty. Lora Leigh books are the kind of books I read through a series and enjoy them...set them aside for a year or so...then reread them again and enjoy them just as much if not more. First Lora Leigh book I read was a breeds novel, I was hooked. My favorites to reread though (Probably cause I have them all, or most all) are the series I listed...don’t have any of the Breeds series on kindle and only a handful in paperback. But they are worth reading also. I highly recommend this book and this author. If you can overlook a few plot lines that are weak and still enjoy the story, I think you will enjoy it. That’s part of fiction isn’t it? Escaping reality? Enjoy.

I Liked This One Better Than the First of the Series
"They knew she was here now. They knew, and they wouldn't stop until they killed her, just as they had killed her mother and her uncle. And she still hadn't figured out who it was or why they wanted her dead."FINAL DECISION: I enjoyed this book and it is good for readers who want a very hot read. I especially liked the relationship between Jazz and Kenni. Kenni is strong and able to take care of herself. Despite her troubles, she is a survivor and no shrinking violet. The book was emotional because Jazz had loved Kenni for so long and had been grieving for her.THE STORY: Jazz Lacing had loved Kenni Maddox even when she was too young for him. Then she was gone, killed in a fire with her mother. In the decade since, Jazz has grieved the spunky, determined young woman. He had begun to think about the new Kindergarten teacher, Annie Mayes, however. Jazz knows that something is off about Annie and he is determined to uncover her secrets. What he finds out, however, is that Annie is really Kenni in disguise. She has been on the run for ten years trying to hide from those who are determined to kill her. Jazz knows that he won't let Kenni go again and he will make her stop running and start trusting.OPINION: I liked this book much better than the first in the series. The relationship between Jazz and Kenni is very sexy and very emotional. Jazz is an extremely strong and confident man but it is clear from the beginning that he is completely committed to Kenni. Their story when she was sixteen is incredibly sweet, but that sweetness becomes hot and sexy and adult very quickly when the secret of Kenni's identity comes out.Kenni's character is especially strong. She is frightened and uncertain, but she is not helpless. She knows how to take care of herself and she is a perfect match for Jazz. She refuses to succumb to his demands. She insists that she deserves the right to make her own decisions and not to wait to be saved. I liked her spunky personality as it came out as she reclaims her own identity. There is an interesting plot regarding who is out to kill Kenni. I figured out the culprit early on but that was okay. What I didn't like was that the resolution was really rushed. I never got an identity from the villain and that made it hard to be satisfied in the ending. I also kept wondering in the beginning what is the Kin? It doesn't get defined until well in the story and it kept interrupting the flow of the story when the reference appeared.WORTH MENTIONING: I can guess who the next couple is and I can't wait.CONNECTED BOOKS: WICKED LIES is the second book in The Men of Summer series. It has overlapping characters but this book can be read as a standalone.STAR RATING: I give this book 3.75 stars.NOTE: I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in order to provide a review. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions contained herein are my own.

Good read and up to her usual standard
Like all lora Leigh books, this combines hot romance with a thriller aspect. Liked jazz very much and though the building of his house very touching. A little bit sceptical how she managed in such a small community to conceal her identity for so long. Often it is gestures that give someone away, also voices do not change much with age. Still I enjoyed the book and considering the ending wonder if another one in this series will follow.

Good story.
The first couple of chapters are confusing and a bit disjointed but I preserved and was glad I did. The confusion was soon cleared up and from then on the story evolved into a sexy, unpredictable read. Lots of twists and turns. Would have liked an epilogue.
