Great product would advise to get one
Do Happy I purchased this. Found out that a locsl hospital that foes physical Therapy also uses the same one. Very easy to install. For us found it works best under the shoulders which the alarm is loud enough to here 2 rooms away which allows me time to get to the bed before my husband can get out of the bed after his hip surgery. No issues the pad is barely noticed. So far battery life is good as our cats like to set it off so had to unplug it when not in use or they set it off just walking or laying in that area.

Bed alarm for alerting that patient is getting out of bed
This bed alarm is wonderful. It alerts me to my elderly parent trying to get out of bed in the night. The alarm sounds in his room. We use a baby monitor so the alarm comes through that to wake me up. You can set it to alarm or music (I use alarm because I need to hear it and wake up), and loud or soft (I set it to loud). You shut off the alarm with your foot on a little controller under the bed. It is a rectangular pad that we put under a pink incontinence bed pad. When he lifts his weight off of it, the alarm sounds. So far the alarm goes off before he is out of bed. Having this lets me sleep better because I feel more sure I will wake up if needed. This was a great purchase to prevent falls and help everyone sleep better at night. I recommend it highly.

GREAT Product & Company
Bed & Chair Pad with ONE Patient Monitor. $49.95 & free shipping. This is my 3rd monitor alarm & I wish I'd gotten it first! It's my favorite by far. I love that it's got the choice of a low or high volume & 2 sounds. The tone setting is pretty annoying, but there are situations where that is a very good thing & I may need it in the future, but so far I'm using the 'music' on the loudest setting & it's working out great. The fact that you only have to press the button once to reset it (shut the alarm off) is a godsend. I have another chair alarm I got before (a yellow one, also n Amazon, Patient Safety Corp's #14CSET-1Y) & besides not being loud enough, you have to hold the button down to shut if off & it doesn't always work right, so then you have to release & press & hold again - sometimes several times before it shuts up. My Mom can't always get up in one go, so she often does this little 1-2-3 bounce on the chair to get up & you can just imagine how frustrating that is with the other alarm. This one is SO MUCH BETTER & Safer! Safer for when she gets up out of bed, this is so easy to use - just hit once so I can immediately help my Mom & don't have to spend the entire time it takes me to assist her to the commode listening to an alarm! Plus that also helps so the other caretaker & I both don't get fully woken up, because with a quick shut off, only one of us has to come down to help her. (We use a baby monitor so we can hear alarm in our bedrooms on different floors - also on Amazon VTech 221-2 Audio Baby Monitor, which is also great.) The cord is really nice too, being flat & thin compared to a thicker curly (think old phones, cord on handset) on the other brand's yellow one. This one is just like the flat cord to wall from a phone (same plug style too which is nice & easy for me to use, but for my Mom not as easy as the headphone style jack on the other one), Mom would always complain about the curly cord being uncomfortable if she wound up on any part of it. She hasn't complained about this one once & it doesn't get caught up in the bedding either. The alarm unit is great too, with a sleek fairly compact design & the multiple attachments make it so much more convenient when you have to attach it to oddly shaped things like a lamp pole or a piece of a chair or whatever some one needs, the choice of so many attachments methods is very versatile - 3 styles of clips (which can be interconnected to make a longer clip too) & adhesive velcro. I like this better than the magnet pull alarm (yup, on Amazon, Medline Advantage Magnetic Alarm) which even though it's the loudest ever - ear piercingly loud - it lets the the patient get too far away before coming off & my Mom's figured out how to take the clip off even though we place it behind between her shoulder blades. If it had a draw string type pull clip for the cord so it was easily adjustable & stayed put where you adjusted it would be much closer to perfect, but it doesn't) so this pad alarm system is better because it gives goes off the instant the patient gets up. The company's customer service is stellar & their assistance has been invaluable. Their above & beyond customer service is simply amazing, I don't think there are words enough to express how impressed I was with their prompt response to my queries & readiness to resolve any problems. I had been leery to purchase this at first as it didn't come with Prime Shipping & there were no reviews, but I finally took a chance because of all the extra features this had over the others, plus the TWO pads & the price was so good, seemed almost too good to be true, but I'm so glad I did finally try this one. I haven't had this very long, but so far I'm very impressed. I'll update if anything changes. I've never even heard of this company before, didn't get paid in any way shape or form by anyone to write this review. I wrote it because I think it's just as important to tell people when you really like something, not just when you don't. I read reviews & they help me when making decisions about what to get, so I feel I should give back by writing some of my own so maybe I can help some other customers too.

Very Functional
Works as described, it was certainly helpful alerting me when my elderly mother tried to getup of bed unexpectedly in the middle of the night. I was disappointed when the battery died in less than a week, I wish this model came with an AC adapter. After a few trials and errors, I want to respond to some of the critical comments posted here, maybe it will help future users. 1. The alarm was frequently going off during the night, even with minimal shifting in bed. I adjusted the pad, lowered it to the small of her back, resolved the problem on the first night. 2. People complain about it Crinkling when laying on it, I found it helpful to put it under the mattress pad. 3. Short battery life; my plan is to unplug it when not in use, hopefully, it will work, I can’t keep replacing the battery every week.

Works
Mil has dementia and prone to falling at night. The best thing about this product is it has an alarm that is music or and actual alarm. Set on the lowest music alarm setting it’s not jarring which causes more distress in the middle of the night. Perfect for our needs. Easily fits the seat of a recliner with some “tucking in’” and works perfectly. As a nurse who worked in hospitals and nursing homes, I highly recommend this if you need something to assist you at night to keep a fragile person in your family safe. Wipes off easily. Appears durable.
