A Year of Paper Piecing: 12 Sensational Seasonal Designs (Block a Month) Paperback – August 5, 2008

I purchased this book to practice some new techniques so I can eventually design my own patterns. Each design can be embellished and finished in a variety of ways, depending on your skill level. There is a section on simple embroidery, and one on a wall-hanging background which allows each month to be switched out for display. Pictures, templates and instructions are clear and thorough. Her choice of monthly patterns is delightful, with a range of easy to intricate. I recommend this book.

I like paper piecing when sewing. This is a big help.

I plan to make every one of these; however, I would not recommend this for the beginning paper piecer. Some of the designs are quite complex. A few of them would be suitable for a beginner. For the experience user, these patterns will make great gift quilts. I have a stand on my mantle with a mini-quilt. I plan to use these as single, finished blocks to change each month. It is rare that a quilter ever uses their own projects. You will want to keep a set of these :-).

For very experienced quilters

The patterns in this paper piecing book are more complicated than many examples, and they can stand alone as seasonal blocks or be part of a 12 month quilt.

I do a lot of quilting and this book is great and you can do one a month or as many as you like very easy

I'm fairly new to paper piecing and wanted to make a calendar quilt. When I saw this book I was excited since the entire year is in it. It's done all the thinking for me.
