Amazing camera! Perfect for traveling/hiking!
I got this camera before a recent trip to Nepal and the UAE. I figured, if I was going to spend weeks hiking in the Himalayas, my old point-and-shoot without a panoramic option, just wouldn't do the trick. But I also couldn't afford a DSLR, nor did I want the extra weight, given that I would be hiking (Everest Base Camp trek) for two weeks and anyone who hikes knows that every extra ounce adds up. After a lot of research, I ended up choosing this camera, in large part based on the wifi option and ability to upload photos (to Facebook! and via email!) directly from the camera, as well as the light weight, and price. Plus, the bonus of getting Adobe photoshop software was appealing. The Adobe software has been a bit disappointing (given the cost when you buy this independently, I expected a lot more of it), but EVERYTHING about the camera itself is PERFECT. It is super lightweight so that was never an issue when hiking, and it's small enough (with the lens that is included, attached) that I had no trouble fitting it into my small-to-medium cross body purse when I was in a city. It takes spectacular photos, so I found I didn't really need to photoshop much at all anyway. It really excells when it comes to panoramics (wow did I get some great shots!) and the video quality and sound is great. I even got some great low light photos. For the price and features, I think this has to be one of the best on the market, and I would highly, highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new camera, especially if you're an adventurous type and/or travel a lot.

A lot of camera for the money
Updated 6/15: When I purchased this camera, it had a sticky shutter which caused about one out of twenty photos to be over-exposed (or show some other anomaly, such as being brighter on the bottom of the photo). After about nine months of using it, the problem seems to be mostly gone.I would also say that the Automatic mode doesn't produce the sharpest images. At full size, the images look pretty soft to me. This could be for any reason: it could be the kit lens, or it could be the JPG processing (I haven't looked at any RAW images yet).I find this camera to be very user-friendly. It doesn't have any "gotchas", like other cameras sometimes have. For example, I bought a Nikon camera (and returned it) before I got this one. The Nikon camera displayed all of the symbols and icons on the screen for three seconds after every shot (obscuring the next shot), and there was no way to turn that off. I haven't found anything similar to object to with this camera. In addition to all that, the camera looks awsome in white. I just love it.

If the Used Like New with Dented Box Samsung NX1100 camera had worked, it would be a dandy, I'm sure...
Lesson learned.....if the box has been damaged, and the box contained electronic devices, not a good idea. I won't do that again. The one I received was completely haywire from the getgo. I even had to remove the battery from the camera just to power it down. Whoa. I didn't give it a horrible rating, because the Samsung cameras are such a great idea....just what everyone who is weary from lugging a heavy DSLR has been waiting for...a small lightweight camera with pretty decent shots that upload to Social Media ....very very cool. I will say I did note that a previous reviewer had noted the "plastic" feel of the camera. It is very, very "plastic" feeling. I will trust his review that it caused no problems for him. However, ultimately, I ended up ordering a Used Like New (good box this time) Nokia 1 J1 with two lenses....and I am completely thrilled with it. It has that quality feel to it, and in spite of the 10 mp sensor, it nails flesh tones, clouds, diving kids, perfectly. I also love the Nikor lens selections, and the option to buy an attachment that would allow me to put my Nikon DSLR lenses on that camera if I so chose. But, while I love the option, I think I just prefer to have my own. Hope this review helps someone in some way.

Hidden costs due to lack of OIS...
Could somebody please explain why no one has complained to any of the major camera manufacturers (this one included) about their lack of an image stabilizing lens with these mirrorless cameras? Here's the issue: I have been looking for a great mirrorless camera as a backup for my Canon t3i, so I went off of the reviews for this product and pulled the trigger. The camera is actually very functional--lots of image options in both manual and automatic shooting. The problem is, these functions do NO GOOD when the images are blurry! Images that look clear on the display are anything but clear when you zoom in, even marginally. No matter what function I shoot in (even the basic modes like sport, portrait and macro) the image comes out blurry. Why haven't I read about this? In fact, why doesn't Samsung offer to replace my lens with one of the OIS lens for free? Why? Because they have these fantastic options for the customer to pay an additional $186 for an OIS-equipped 18-55mm lens. This is crap. It should be stated outright that the lens system offers ZERO stabilization in this package. Why is this lens even an option???I don't consider myself shaky by nature, and everything I try with this camera fails to produce a clear, crisp image. And no, I have never had issues with clarity from past camera systems. My sole purpose of this review is trying to help future prospective buyers to either purchase the camera body (which has great features) with the OIS lens at the onset, or just buy a higher grade DSLR and save yourself the hassle.
