Two giant 90oz cans of the legit San Marzano Roma tomatoes. There IS a difference in taste. D.O.P is what you're looking for. Don't be tricked by labels that say "Certified." D.O.P. DOP is short for Denominazione di Origine Protetta (literally “Protected Designation of Origin”).Each can is about the equivalent of three 28Oz cans, more or less. I use 3.5 cups in my homemade marinara recipe which serves about 3 people.

When the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic first began and became widespread in the US, for some reason my favorite Rega San Marzano tomatoes disappeared from local grocery shelves. I was *delighted* to find these large, commercial kitchen sized ones available online - once open, one can freeze whatever isn't immediately used, and you're good to go. Terrific taste and texture - it truly makes a difference for sauces where you want the tomato to shine.

Don’t mess with the rest, these are the best! I use them for my homemade pizza sauce and it is amazing, my wife eats it cold by the spoonful. I use the same sauce for dipping cheese sticks. Seriously once you try these tomatoes you won’t go back to brand X. These do not have basil, I searched a long time to find San Marazanos without added ingredients.

Best pizza sauce in the world? Simply hand squeeze the tomatoes, add basil and oregano to taste, some salt maybe some pepper. I do the same for pasta. I used to cook it down, but why bother. The tomatoes are non acidic, and they work this way just fine.
