Jeffrey Gitomer's Little Book of Leadership: The 12.5 Strengths of Responsible, Reliable, Remarkable Leaders That Create Results, Rewards, and Resilience

As with Gitomer's other books, this one is packed with bite-size gems that are worth living by, and learning from... this time on leadership. One of the core tenets he starts with is discussing how leadership must be earned (and how to get there), by one's actions and not just conferred respect via position. He makes you look inside yourself to see where you're providing authentic, likable leadership in a way that hits home.Like his other books, all of which I've read at least a few times (thanks for the ribbon in these, too, a nice touch to keep 'em from getting dog-eared), this one makes you think about how others perceive you. And how to build a personal leadership philosophy, backed by actions, attitudes, belief and effective communications with others, that really makes sense.Above all else, I like this book because it models how to develop personal responsibility for providing leadership (which in a way we all need to study, to be leaders of our families, in communities, as entrepreneurs, as well as formal managers and execs), and the checklist of activities and "things to keep in mind when leading others" that can make a big difference.On a last note, I will say I'm very glad Gitomer's gone beyond just sales training to correctly teach and show us all about how to develop a winning attitude, how to communicate and brand/position ourselves effectively, how to lead successfully and live a life worth living. Jeffery has written another fantastic book and surprisingly it's not about sales or is it? As a leader the message has to be sold, and implemented that takes leadership. The book explains key points of how to be a better leader. Just about every line is a gem the problem is most people may not see the book as exciting hype since its written very straight forward. Most people overlook simplicity because they want problems and issues to be difficult so that they have a reason to complain later and some other excuse to fail. This isn't to say that leadership isn't easy to implement its just many people will not have the guts to do what needs to be done.This isn't the type of book to read in a night it's about taking the time to implement and going through each lesson to figure out a way to make it work for you.If you own a business or are in any type of management your competitions best hope is that you have weak leadership because just about every internally destructive component that is in a business comes from weak leadership skill. What slows progress down is holding on to bad leaders when they are known to be changed or not deciding to lead.Overall this is a great book that is easy to read about leadership broken down into small chunks that have the ability to be executed. If you are a fan of Jeffrey you will love this book, if you have never read one of his books you are in for a treat.

This is another straight talking book but this time it is on leadership not sales. I have read every one of Gitomer's books, several times. If you have read any of his books you know that his books are written as if you are sitting across the table from him sharing a cup of coffee and he talks about his years of gathering wisdom while making it extremely easy to understand and implement. The problem with books on leadership is that not everyone thinks of themself as a leader and might therefore pass this book up when in fact everyone is a leader to someone. This book applies to everyone, period! That said, everyone in any type of business needs to read it. Granted, a lot of the material has probably been taught before but not quite in the way Gitomer writes about it. It is easy to read, easy to understand and if studied, easy to implement in your daily life. I highly recommend the book and the bits of insight that can be obtained through Gitomer's web site and his GITBOX links.

I just started to read it, it's great!

"The little Book" series of Jeffrey Gitomer is fun and inspiration at the same time. And great product design and manufacturing.YES, we need more leadership in all areas and Jeffrey has the talent to communicate this serious topic with humor and clarity. And leadership can be so easy, teach it your kids - or even better, don't teach it, DO IT and they'll see and understand.What can I say more? Give yourself a treat and get this little book of leadership. And lead.I even would give it a 28.5 out of 28.5!

Gitomer nails it again with a great read on leadership (and sales). However, it seems as though at this point he's starting to borrow way too much from his other titles in the 'Little Book' series. I recommend this book but with some reservations if you've already read two or more of the other titles. Good read though.

Jeffrey's depth of knowledge on Leadership is amazing. I just finished it Saturday and once again I have destroyed it.Most of it is underlined and the rest is dogeared. Being a slow reader with poor comprehension is a big plus. It forces me to read each page several times so I undersatnd the points he is making. Once I do that I don't forget it.Always worth the money.

Jeffrey Gittomer hits the nail on the head...again. This is a good go-to book for those times in your career when you need to get refocused or motivated because you can just pick it up, read a section and off you go. I make it a point to give as a gift to young motivated adults.

Jeffrey knows selling like no other. So much to learn and use. Great read.
