Gets the job done at a great price
After adopting a Maine coon cat a while back I had to step up my floor care game. Maine coons shed - a lot and this requires multiple vacuuming a week. I have a small place and my old bagged, corded Eureka vacuum is OK but sort of a pain to drag out every couple days so a compact cordless vacuum seemed like a good investment. Of course the Dysons are really nice, but I'm on a tight budget so even the refurbs are a little pricey. I know that Shark vacuums are a good, less expensive alternative and this refurb cordless DuoClean looked like a great deal. Some reviews have pointed out the that the Shark has a few drawbacks compared to the Dysons (mainly battery charge life, smaller dust cup capacity, a little bulkier, heavier, and noisier) but is very much comparable in floor cleaning performance and that's what counts. One big plus I like about the Shark is the replaceable battery. With a Dyson (and most other cordless vacuums) once the battery loses charging capacity, which will occur after a few years of use, you either toss the entire unit or try to get it replaced or repaired (good luck with that). All of the reported drawbacks of the Shark have not really proven to be issues for me at all since I've been using it. Battery life has been more than adequate before requiring a charge, cleaning and suction are great for a compact vacuum. I don't have a Dyson to compare it to but the noise isn't bad at all and doesn't terrify my cat the way the old Eureka does. Yes, the dust bin capacity is a little small but it's easy enough to empty. It has also been also great for car clean up using the provided tools. As a refurbished unit there are a couple expected cosmetic marks the would probably appear after some use anyway but all of the accessories arrived in as-new condition. Sharks model numbering system can be a little confusing but the base unit appears to be identical with the differences being the tools provided (and probably which retailer that it's sold by). The IC205 I purchased came with a crevice tool, Pet Multi-Tool, Anti-Allergen Dust Brush, Precision Duster (with a flexible hose), charging cord and of course a battery (which also appeared to be new). One more thing about the Dyson stick vacuums - Consumer Reports used to recommend them but recently pulled that recommendation because of reliability and battery life issues reported by their readers. For a cost not much, if any more, than a good handheld vacuum (i.e. Dustbuster) this refurbished Shark is a great buy for it's versatility and performance.

HOLY BLEEP
This will be the longest review of my life because I am so impressed. To begin, I’ve been using an Electrolux ergorapido which I loved for ~5 years. It died finally. So I took a chance on this refurbished Shark. I was nervous but I am blown away.To begin the adventure, the packaging was impeccable. No original Shark box of course but very professional and secure. Instruction pamphlets were included.I charged the battery for ~ 3 hours prior to use. Assembly was simple and the accessories included are wonderful!I noticed two small knicks on the shaft of the vac that had been covered with color matching marker, which is fine; and there was a single hair in the roller brush, also fine. Otherwise the vac was sparkling clean like brand new.I vacuumed ~75% of my 1400sq’ house and the battery went down to one out of three bars. I’m satisfied with this as I don’t ever plan on vacuuming for more than 20 minutes at a time anyway.Overall function was easy to figure out without ever having to look at the manuals. The most exciting part, this vacuum had ZERO kickback. You know, when you’re barefoot and feel those tiny bits of sand or dirt get thrown from the vac and hit your feet? None of that with this vacuum. It’s amazing. It’s pickup is top notch on bare floor and carpet alike. The carpet function on my area rugs was a bit intense, the vac seems to want to levitate with the power of the spinning brush. Regardless it’s pickup remained intact. It did send my welcome mat flying across the kitchen, too powerful for that; but shaking the mat out onto the floor it picked up every spec of dirt and sand that came out!!Frankly I’ve never owned a vacuum that worked this well. From here the only test will be longevity, I’ll update if that’s an issue but I don’t imagine it will be. Highly recommend!!

Awesome little vac
This thing is great. Cordless means it is easy to grab and take anywhere. But the power of this thing is good and it vacuums almost as well as a full-size vacuum. The dirt cup is small so you have to stop to empty it after a couple of rooms. But one battery on full charge will last long enough for me to clean my whole house.I'm particularly happy that this "renewed" product seemed to be brand new and unused. It was packaged in a plain box but all of the packaging inside appeared to be from the factory. Every piece was wrapped in plastic. There was no dirt or any indication that it had been used. I think this is more like an open box than a remanufactured item. Maybe I got lucky. And it does come with attachments. It was hard to tell from the description but it does include a crevice tool, a detail brush on a hose, a brush that they call a "pet multi-tool", and a long skinny dust brush.Get this it is worth it. I'm glad I got the one with the "multi-flex" bend in the pole. It folds in half so you can leave the motor attached and store it upright. Otherwise it is top-heavy and doesn't stand up on its own. Also you can bend it forward to run the roller part under a couch or bed, which is a really neat feature.
