The adapter shows an input range from 110-240, but the plug is standard american. So, while I believe it will charge anywhere, you might need a plug adapter if used in a country where the outlet plug is not compatible with a standard american two-prong wall plug. The cover is always attached (folded at the bottom in the first photo, unfolded in the third). Stellar speaker, you won't be disappointed. If your playing it inside or near a wall, placing is fairly close to a wall will really enhance the bass. They are excellent. Bluetooth transmission and quality of salad is superb the design and finish is excellent and the battery life is phenomenal.The speaker has a typical Bose clean dynamic sound which is quite amazing for the size of the speakers.The range between the Apple device and the speaker is at least 30 feet. I use the speaker all over my home. I bought the second speaker for my office and find it very enjoyable for background music there.I have owned the first speaker for about two years and have experienced no performance difficulties ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing speaker! *by J***A on December 19, 2013* I can not begin to say how satisfied we are with this speaker. I had the nylon version of this speaker, but upgraded to the leather version. The overall construction is A+. Not cheaply built with a bunch of plastic. It has some weight to it and the leather is a nice soft leather grain. But more than anything the sound is AMAZING! If possible put it in a corner where the bass will bounce off the wall and fill the room. I had the BOSE Cinemate series and loved that, but this actually almost gets there. Great lows and highs, the fidelity of this speaker is great. As with all speakers the more you use it, the more you break in the drivers and speakers. We love it, we use it daily and fill the room with everything room Classical, to Classic Rock, Trance etc. It can handle anything you throw at it. Oh and it's super easy to move and carry. About an 8 hr lifespan and charges up pretty quick. If I could give it another star I would. BOSE has done it again.
