Keeps bread fresh longer
I like this bread bag very much. It keeps a baguette fresh for a few days, and looks fine on the counter top. I like the snaps it has to shorten the bag as the bread is eaten. I wish it had a few more snaps to shorten the bag a little more. I also wish this company made a bread bag for crusty loaves of bread that are shorter and wider. I have carefully hand washed the bag with no problem. I do keep my baguettes inside the paper bag they come in within the bread bag to limit crumbs. I would buy this again, as well as another bag for a wider shorter loaf, if it were available.

They work great but are a little stiff
I bought these as Christmas gifts for family. They work great but are a little stiff. We lived in Germany for a few years and a bread storage bag was one of the first things that I bought so that I could keep my rolls fresh for a couple of days. Without a bag they would be as hard as rocks after 2 days. The liner in my old bag is sort of crinkly and a lighter weight. I'm sure that after I've used this one for 25 years it will be easier to close.

Fresh is NOT as fresh is
I bought this to keep my french bread fresh and edible over a longer time and it does NOT do so.I buy a twin pack of bread and placed one in the Bread Bag and kept the other in the plastic bag which the bread came in. Both were kept closed tightly. I used the bread in the plastic bag first and only opened it to get some bread out. When I finished that loaf, I opened the Bread Bag and was disappointed, shocked, hungry when it came out covered in mold. It was fresh (WOW) but covered in mold. Straight to the trash can with the bread. And this was a matter of a week.Given these results, I must say that the bakers packaging is more effective in preserving freshness.BOTTOM LINE, FIGHT ANY URGES TO WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ITEM!!! Or maybe just send the money you want to waste to me. Happy shopping!UPDATE: (2/20/14): I did contact the seller and they offered to return the item and refund the purchase price LESS the shipping they paid to ship it to me. SO, my return shipping will EXCEED my refund, so I opted NOT to do so, but to simply post this review on Amazon and hopefully save others the time and expense involved in purchasing this item. A word to the wise...

Love them
I have these cloth storage bags in a couple of different sizes and love them. I have been using them for years, and with careful treatment and cleaning (ie, hand wash and air dry) they will serve you well.Fresh bread is fresh bread, so don't be thinking that you can put your new loaf in here and leave it for a week. But for a few days, this works perfectly.Oh, and don't be putting your hot bread in them, it will sweat.I am happy to recommned these bags to any home baker.

does not keep bread crispy
I was a little skeptical, since it's lined with plastic, but the reviews were positive, so I bought it and tested it with a fresh baguette. I can confirm that it turns crispy baguettes into rubbery pool noodles overnight. the plastic lining does not let the bread breathe sufficiently to keep the crust crispy, so the bread turns rubbery. It may keep the bread soft longer, but since baguettes are meant to be crispy, it's kind of pointless.

How did I live before bread bags?
I live alone, and, barring a real bread binge, I cannot go through a loaf of French bread (or any other bakery bread) before it goes stale. Truthfully, I can't do it with this bag, either, but I get a lot more days out of a loaf now, and it really keeps the bread fresh longer than it stays without. Well worth having if fresh bread is a favorite item in your diet.
