Works Well
A few weeks ago, I went to wear a wool suit that has hung in my closet for awhile (wool is seldom worn in Florida, where I live). I first noticed a musty smell then almost immediately noticed that there was mildew all over the material. The dry-cleaner was able to get the smell and mildew out. I purchased two closed vinyl bags along with "DampRid" Hanging Moisture Absorber (Fragrance Free), hung 5 of my suits and the "DampRid" in each bag and haven't had any trouble since then. I think this is a great product for protecting clothes and I highly recommend.

Goodbye indoor humidity!
I live in NYC where mold is prevalent in apartments. I use all of these products - the hanging ones; the plastic can ones; the big plastic sucker. I place them in my closets, under my sinks & near my A/C units. I only need to change them out every other month. After living in my apartment for 8 years and using Damprid products for 4 of these years - the difference in air quality is extremely noticeable. Highly recommend!

Makes life easier
I live in the Caribbean, every house should have these! These are great during the humid summers and a must have when my allergies act up. This is a great product. Beware that you don't poke a hole in the bag! It takes forever to clean up.

Good option if you don't have a dehumidifier
I like these hanging bags because they are perfect for my closet, which is next to the bathroom and way too humid. I think I might need to bite the bullet and get a dehumidifier, but until then, this is a great solution. I also stash some in other closets to prevent mold growth/ keep everything fresh. I definitely recommend the fragrance-free version, as the ones with fragrance are overwhelming!!

Great product but not a good experience buying
Let me start by saying that I like the product and have been using it for a couple of years now to keep my boat sweet and dry when stored. For that it does a great job and I have no complaints. For the product itself I would rate it 5 stars. The reason I only rated it 1 star was for the experience buying it. I carefully read the web page and reviews and was anticipating getting a pack of 6 of these which at $38 was ok but not great pricing. What I received was a single box and not a pack of 6. The item shows as coming from Amazon (who I use a lot) but was actually supplied by a 3rd party, so when I contacted Amazon to have the problem recitified they could not do so except to have me return the product for a refund. This was frustrating as I had hoped they could just send out the missing items. Anyway, returns were easy and it forced me to look locally to find them as I needed them asap. I found them at Walmart for only $7 per 3 pack and ended up buying 9 of them for $21, a lot better deal than 6 for $38 and less hassle. Bottom line, great product, high price, and shorted during delivery. Hopefully it was just a mistake in the shipping department and not deliberate.

Traps Moisture During Hot Humid Summer Months
Damp Rid hanging moisture absorbers I purchased & used during the worse summer I experienced in suburban Washington, DC. The first Damp Rid hangers I purchased were the fragrance filled ones. Wow, the scent is strong and would help fight any musty, moldy smelling closet. But, if you have a very sensitive nose, have asthma, or multiple chemical sensitivity, the fragrance free Damp Rid hangers are the ones to get. These hanging Damp Rid moisture absorbers are easy to use, just hang them any where you think you need them. The hanging unit will become more heavy has it absorbs & releases the water to the clear bottom pouch, so hang the units from a sturdy hook, railing, wardrobe hanger. When bottom pouch is full of water, it is easy to move the unit to a sink, tub, toilet, pierce the bag & water pours out. Great part is you don't have to touch the Damp Rid crystals as they are enclosed in the upper bag. Also, those crystals won't spill.Problem I've had with "open" container Damp Rid crystals is that household & airbourne molds grow quicker on the open to air crystals. The enclosed bag Damp Rid crystals aren't exposed to open air as the "open" containers. Any accumulated mold on the crystals is minimal & disposed of when the hanging container is throw away. The worse hot summer & humidity of my life here(2010), I had 4 Damp Rid hangers, one in my closet, one in my bedroom, one at my doorway, & one in hallway leading to my home. It was amazing to see when & where most of the humidity was residing in the house. Must also note that I use a Honeywell HEPA air purifier in my bedroom from spring to late summer. The combination of the HEPA filter & the Damp Rid hangers, I was able to get some sleep. My usual allergic asthma attacks were minimal & easily handled with my inhalers. Mom kept cutting the whole house air conditioning low due to fear of energy bill. My next experiment with Damp Rid is to try it with an air conditioner during hot & humid summer.
