Exactly what we needed!
My golden retriever is just over a year old and while she is very sweet and eager to please, she can also be a bit unruly, pushy/demanding for attention, and has trouble focusing when she gets overexcited. I ordered this training collar at my vet’s recommendation (she also has goldens and described how early use of a training collar to set limits has been helpful with her dogs). So far, this collar has helped tremendously. We’ve been using it for about 5 days and I’ve never had to use the static correction - my pup responded well to the sound and has only needed the vibrate function twice. She has a habit of getting selective hearing when she’s out in the yard and runs into the back corner of the yard which is usually muddy; the first time I saw her heading in that direction after getting the collar, one beep stopped her in her tracks. I’ve also seen big improvements in her behavior when guests come over (no more running around like a maniac and jumping up on them; she goes to her spot and sits until released) and in her barking for attention. Some other thoughts about the collar and recommendations that may be helpful to others:- I loved that this remote has a lock function so I don’t deliver an unintentional correction and confuse my pup. I also love the variety of options for delivering the appropriate level of correction depending on your dog’s responsiveness (I don’t want to use a shock if a lower level of intensity is effective)- My girl is pretty sensitive to sounds, so your mileage may vary with the sound function if your dog is more tolerant of weird noises- I took another reviewer’s suggestion and tried the static function on myself before putting the collar on my dog. Please be aware that the remote comes pre-set to level 99, which is the highest level. I cranked the level down to a 10 before trying it on my hand and it was still DEFINITELY unpleasant, so I would strongly recommend starting at a very low level with your dog (I wouldn’t go higher than a 5 initially) and working your way up to reach the lowest level your dog responds to. Again, I’ve never had to use the static correction with my pup so can’t speak to how a 10 translates from human to dog perception (I’m sure there’s some variation) but having tried it on myself, I wouldn’t ever want to make her feel that sensation unless I needed her to immediately stop doing something that was unsafe.- Since the shock option doesn’t seem necessary for us right now, I was a little worried about accidentally hitting the shock button when grabbing the remote (the shock button is a huge orange button in the middle of the remote so would be the easiest one to hit accidentally). I ended up just turning the intensity down to level 0 so it won’t matter if the shock button accidentally gets pushed when fumbling around for the remote.- My only complaint is that the collar attached to the receiver doesn’t stay tight after adjusting - if my dog itches her neck or plays with another dog, the collar loosens up considerably (and actually came off once while she was playing). Still trying to figure out if there’s a better way to secure the straps so it doesn’t come loose.Overall, I’m very satisfied with this purchase! I can’t believe I was considering paying $100+ for another training collar when this one absolutely got the job done!Edit 12/2/19: As I’ve used this collar more I’m still very satisfied, but I noticed a couple of other things that may be worthwhile for others to know:- The collar emits a loud beep (the same tone used for the sound correction) whenever powered on or off. It would be nice if this could be disabled, as my dog gets freaked out whenever I turn the collar on and thinks she’s getting corrected for something. Covering the collar with my hand or turning it on in another room has helped somewhat.- Battery life on the receiver and remote have been great - I’ve charged the receiver twice and the remote only once in about a week.- There’s a brief but noticeable pause (a little over 1 second) between pushing a button on the remote and the corresponding response from the receiver. Factoring in the time it takes for the person using the collar to notice the undesired behavior and push the button, the delay from behavior to consequence is about 2 seconds at a minimum (assuming you notice the behavior quickly and have the remote in your hand). While it doesn’t seem to cause significant problems, from a behavioral standpoint, it would be helpful if the receiver delivered a faster response so the dog “gets the message” that whatever they’re doing at the time the button is pushed is the undesired behavior, instead of whatever they’re doing 2 seconds later (for busy dogs, 2 seconds can make a big difference).

Overall great product with a few minor flaws
We needed this collar for training purposes. Initially I had pro’s and con’s when I first started using the collar. This was only because we have had a training collar in the past that my husband and I really liked but I decided to try this one because of two specific features it had that the other didn’t, the lock button and able to charge and not be operated by battery. When we used our old training collar there were several occasions where we bumped one of the buttons beep/vibrate/shock. We would feel terrible about it but it just happened from time to time. With this product we had the option to easily slide it into lock mode so that we could prevent those accidents from happening. So we really like this feature. I also like the option to charge it when not in use so when I use it, it’s ready and I don’t have to worry that the battery might soon die. Wonderful feature. One of the cons about this product is that it is a slightly bigger remote and it has no wrist tie or clip to clip it to your pants and because it is slightly bigger a little too big for me to just carry around in my pocket. But if this is an ongoing problem for people maybe this is a simple fix in the future for them to add. I also don’t like that the numbers go from 1-99 I think they need to set a smaller range like 1-10 or 1-20 most. It’s just to difficult to gauge what the range is for the dog and what number works best for training so I assume put it in the middle.I have had the product now for a couple months and have grown to like some of the features I didn’t initially like. Example, the beep sound was different than what I’m used to. It is louder, so if my other dog is near it also corrects her. This can be a good thing and/or bad thing if you are trying to specifically train a certain dog. For me, it ended up working out because my other dog would also listen if out of line as she did not have a collar on but could here the sound and knew she better listen. We have not had to use the shock for any reason so I cannot specifically comment on it. The vibration seems to get her attention if she would ignore the beep, but after getting used to the collar and sound with correction she seems to only need the occasional sound/beep.Overall I feel like it is a great product with a few minor flaws and I would recommend it. It works well for me to train for simple commands and keeping my dog in the yard so she learns her boundaries.

It’s actually magic!
Firstly, I want to start by stating that I’ve purchased quite a few learning tools for my Great Dane. This is the ONLY one that works AND I haven’t had to use the shock feature yet! (Sort of, keep reading)I started by pulling it out and checking the default setting on the shock feature (assuming this would be the recommended setting for dogs). It was set to 81 which I thought was quite high and promptly applied a shock to my hand... this is a JOLT! It was definitely shocking but I wanted perspective as to how it would feel applied to the dogs neck so.. I shocked my neck haha - HURTS! Scared the hell out of me. Glad I checked - main thing I’m getting at, shocking a hand or arm is NOT how it will feel on the neck.. much stronger in the neck area.Anyways, I switched it to the lowest setting (one) and found it barely noticeable. I started here and left something I knew my dog likes to chew but shouldn’t (shoes) and watched/waited. He did/didn’t disappoint.. I started applying shocks which he didn’t recognise until around 15. This only distracted him as if a mosquito bit him. It’s now set to 19 and I haven’t used it since.Every time I see him getting up to mischief, I simply alert him by activating the beep function first and quickly state NO. He definitely gets it. If he’s really acting up - jumping ok guests, I need only activate the vibrate function once and he immediately stops. I’m only using these two and would highly recommend following my lead. No shocks necessary but your dog may be in a completely different situation. Good luck!

Great product
It’s easy to use. The range seem to be accurate. My dog is so responsive in vibrant mode, my dog and I both love it.

Do not put it in the water.
Worked well over the winter in the snow/rain, went swimming and it stopped working a few days later. I made sure the charger cover was closed properly before swimming. Great device, just don't put it in the water.Tried to warranty the receiver (which has 12 months warranty) both the seller and dog care themselves are pointing fingers at each other for warranty replacement. Do not buy this product. You will be left with garbage if something goes wrong.

Dog walking life changer!
I have been using this product for a few days now and it is amazing! Having the different options is great and the zap aha only been used once. The dogs respond immediately and no longer run after rabbits and kangaroos when on long runs! Highly recommended!
