These Hella replacement lights are well worth the cost particularly given the improvement in road illumination. If you own an older car that came with simple American-made sealed beam (all glass) headlights then you are driving in the dark. Back in the day, American market cars (domestic and foreign) were forced to use federally mandated lights thanks to the lobbying efforts of manufacturers like Sylvania. The trouble with the sealed beam type light is the uneven light field that they produce leaves some portions of the road in shadow. Hella headlights provide a broad even field of illumination that greatly improves nighttime driving safety. The reason is a polished metal reflector and a superb lens. The Hella lights install in the same manner as the stock ones and you should not have to worry about aligning them if the old lights were already properly aligned. (The lights require H4 Halogen bulbs - DOT approved Hella bulbs are suggested.) Whether you have a vintage collectible Mustang, your aunt's old Chevy or a classic BMW, you will see a distinct improvement. Recommended

So if you have a 280, 350, 380, 450, 500, 580 SL (R107) and have the US headlights, I bet you wish you had the cooler, brighter Euro lights, RIGHT? Well install these and worry no more. I put a pair of these wiith 60/55 W H4 Hella Bulbs and the setup is BRIGHT and AWESOME. Even better put a pair of Hella high beam lights and you will have BRIGHTER lights than the Euro Spec lights. the car may not look as cool, but you will save some serious cash and see very well at night.

Price doesn't really make sense, but I guess you're paying for the brand, perfect replacement for my BMW E30.

These are great. Good e-code beam pattern,Glass optics, precise reflector. Hellas products are all over the map from junk to really good. This falls in the really good category.

Great replacement for the Harley Davidson street 750 headlight which has a pathetic reflector. The original wasn't much better than a candle even after putting in a Philips extreme vision plus (130%) H4 bulb.This Hella headlight has made night rides so much better due to a better throw. That too, I am yet to make final focus alignment adjustments, so it should improve even further.

Beautiful, simple product. This is the one to get if you want to purchase your own H4 bulbs. (I wanted to get some PIAA Night Tech bulbs and skip the Hellas included on the pricier kits. Highly recommended, by the way.) I should mention that these are not exactly like the picture, they do have the 10mm flat rim around the edge of the glass and the lens itself is flatter than normal sealed-beam bulbs. Not exactly a match aesthetically for a classic car, but the lighting performance is amazing.

I have put this headlight and the larger Hella 7" model on numerous Classic Range Rovers and old Mercedes. If your vehicle uses sealed beam headlights, you won't regret that you upgraded to this product. It produces a far greater amount of light and requires not modification of your headlight mounts or wiring. You will need to buy a separate H4 bulb. I recommend the PIAA GT-X bulbs.

Top of the line Headlight housings. Worked perfectly in my 83 380SL so I ordered the H1 housings to complete the set. Pretty much just plug and play.
