AUKEY 4K Dash Cam 2880 x 2160P Car Camera with Supercapacitor and 6-Lane Lens Dash Camera for Cars with HDR, Loop Recording, G-Sensor, Motion Detection and 2-Port USB Car Charger

The camera is very compact and sits out of site behind the drivers mirror, no distraction from focusing on the road ahead. It is very easy to install with the cable out of site, tucked behind the windscreen rubber edging. One tip is to carefully consider the positioning of the camera, I set it too low at first, getting a fine view of my bonnet. Aukey generously provide two sets of sticky pads, once attached they are very firm indeed, but can be carefully removed with a thin chisel or screwdriver. Also the usb connection is at the top of the camera therefore you need to be sure to leave sufficient space between the top of the camera and windscreen edge to be able to plug in the connection. The camera switches on automatically when you start the car. The picture quality is very good, number plates are easy to read. The camera is very easy to remove and replace in its cradle. I took the manufacturers advice and purchased a high quality card, a Samsung 128 endurance. I decided not to be obsessive and play back every car journey; I feel confident just letting the camera record to provide evidence of a potentially disputed incident; which of course I hope never arises. The one negative I have is the printed instructions should be more detailed. That aside,I can highly recommend this camera. Solid construction, small and discrete with high quality video playback.

Well this is not a bad dash cam not the best looking one but looks ain’t everything, picture quality is next to none and can record in 4K if needed field of view is excellent and installation is a breeze with pads you get for the windows and car I installed just ifont of my front mirror and then put the long wire around my window down through my glove compartment into the cigarette lighter using the supplied little clips with stickers on.All in all very happy.

The Dash cam is easy to mount to your windshield in a minute with the included sticker mount. Looks great and hidden at the same time.I am most amazed with the wide angle and the clear nighttime recording which is excellent in contrast to my previous camera I had!The dash cam starts to record automatically when you start the engine or I recommend highly to turn on the motion detection recording mode for monitoring even when you've locked and left the car! It saved me already on 1 occasion when somebody scratched my car and left while I’ve been shopping!It automatically writes over the old images when your SD card is full and does not stop filming when you might need it the most ! Great feature!

Overall quite pleased - I managed to purchase this on a lightning deal for £72, so keep an eye on the page.My windscreen is rather short and does not slope much, so I wanted a dashcam that would a) fit out of sight behind the mirror where I can forget about it / not obstruct the view out, and b) not attract attention to thieves on the street. And the Aukey ticks those boxes perfectly.As the pictures show, the form factor makes it look less like an attachment and more like another windscreen sensor from the outside. When sitting in the driver's seat, if mounted behind the mirror, all you can see is the USB lead coming out of the device and into the headliner where the cable is routed. It does not pose as a distraction to your driving or an obstruction to your view. For more stealth and even less distraction, it's possible to switch the screen off after 1 minute of activation, disable the front LED and the beep sounds in the menu.The video quality is good enough, I would say some rivalling cameras produce better results. Selecting 2160p (4K) will cause 1 frame to skip every second, which seems to be across the board if you search for sample videos on YouTube. This isn't a massive issue though. My camera seems to have a slightly short focal range (probably made worse by reflections in my low sloping windscreen). Farther objects become slightly defocussed, and this affects the readability of text (see pictures). Bumping down the exposure value in the menu makes a small difference as it removes some sun glare, but nothing can be done in the way of readjusting the lens, as it's fixed. This would be a problem if you had an accident and the offending driver's number plate didn't come into view until he/she's further away.Night shots are decent in lit areas, not so much in unlit. There isn't much information to salvage in the blacks by bumping up the brightness in editing software, but nothing rivals the Aukey in this area really, unless you get your hands on something that has a proper infrared ring around the lens.One thing I would recommend when buying any dashcam - purchase a high-endurance MicroSD card, not a "standard" one. After a week of purchasing this camera, my standard SanDisk Ultra was killed off in just 1 week presumably from taking a heavy battering from saving 4K video over and over again.

I have been using this dash cam for over a week now and i must say it is amazing, it is really easy to setup and install, took me all but 10 minutes and im not too tech savvy. The picture quality is crystal clear and you also have the option to record sound too.The picture qulity at night is awsome which i wasnt expecting as my previous one i bough cheap was awfull at night. The dashcam fitted snugly behind my rear view mirrow. The quality of the camera is awsome and i would reccomend anyone wanting a dash cam to look no further. My father has ordered one for in his truck as he loves it. Highly reccomend.

Been using this about a week now and have to say it's a cracking piece of kit. Sits just behind the rearview mirror so it's not in the way. Good picture. Can choose to have audio recording or not. Was a bit fiddly setting it up getting the cable to sit right and finding the right spots for the sticky holders, but that's probably more to do with my car being a Renault. The dual charge port is a nice touch. Would recommend.

Only took 10 minutes to install and that includes the time for wiring with the hard wire kit. If you buy the camera as a plug & play kit you could probably have it up and running in 3 minutes. Camera set up will guide you through the menus. Have been using the camera over the last month and been very impressed by the performance so far. If you are looking for a plug & play camera this ones simplicity its self.
