and seems like it'll survive a life of tough use
It's a solid baster, and seems like it'll survive a life of tough use. The injector is a good idea, but it can be a little wonky - just make sure your injected marinade doesn't have too many big chunks. When I was injecting the Thanksgiving Turkey, some of the little bits got caught - and that needle is smaller than you might think. It's not a fault of this product, I think, just my own preparation. When using the needle to inject, though, it's harder to draw into the baster than you might think. I ended up taking the needle off, drawing marinade into the syringe, and then replacing the needle. A simple solution, but a bit of an inconvenience.Overall, it's a good baster, easy to clean, and the needle attachment gives it a really convenient second purpose if you don't have a dedicated marinade injector (which was exactly my situation).

Not Glass
I ordered this turkey baster after searching for "glass turkey baster" the description does not say what it is made of but at least one of the reviews said it is glass it is plastic, It is NOT GLASS. The package does say BPA free. The clear part is definitely very clear rigid plastic. It has measurements marked which is nice. The red tip screws off and is made of a different plastic. It is is interchangeable with the injector tip. I need to use it so I am going to keep it. I don't know if a glass one exists at this point. I've been looking for a while. I re-read the description and do see in some of the answered questions that people are clarifying that it is made of plastic but the confusion is obvious. PS Made in China.

Great Baster
My wife's old baster bulb split in pieces during the cooking of our thanksgiving turkey. I grabbed the baster and chucked it into the backyard. This is where most things go when they fail to work properly. But then, came the problem of now needing another baster for future cooking. This is how I received the job of locating one. I told her not to worry and I'll search Amazon for one. There were many basters advertised and I remembered the wife requesting a glass one with a brush to clean it. The Zyliss 50510 Baster advertised was a bit more expensive then the others but I wanted quality, something that will last awhile. I purchased it and the baster arrived shorly thereafter. My wife was very happy to receive it. She used it during Christmas Day cooking and remarked to me how great it was. The baster brush made cleaning easy. My wife and I recommend the Zyliss Baster to everyone.

Like most it doesn't hold the liquid as well as ...
Turkey baster works well. Like most it doesn't hold the liquid as well as you'd like and you'll dribble if your transferring liquids between pans, but that seems like the case for every baster I've ever used. The injector-holder-clip-thingy is a little odd. It's nice to have the injector attached when it's in the drawer so it does't get lost, but if you're using the baster you'll end up taking the injector off anyway, and leaving it to roll around in your drawer until the baster is cleaned and dried. An added benefit is that the injector holder works nicely as a stand for the baster so it doesn't roll all over the counter when you set it down.

Good quality baster with essential pieces.
Easy to take apart and the scrubbing tool is essential to cleaning it. I would not buy a baster without the piece to clean it, otherwise all the grease and grime from cooking would be very difficult to get out. I also like that it is clear so you can see how much of the juices/liquids you've got. My only difficulty was that it is a bit difficult to squeeze the bulb syringe without any of the juices dripping out, but I think that would be the same problem with any type of baster.

Nice baster
This is a nice turkey baster. The rubber ball suction part fits snugly on the hard plastic tube piece, so it doesn't suck in air like some turkey basters. Because of that, you get more liquid in the tube which makes for less time bending over a hot oven. It hand washes up really well. I don't care for having the piece on the side of the tube that the injector tip attaches to for storage but that might be a nice option for someone else.

Nice Looking Turkey Baster
This baster was a hit at Thanksgiving as I have been without one for over a year and it makes the whole process of getting the juices on the top of turkey much easier than a ladlecand more effective. The included cleaning brush really was a help on cleaning but the baster was a lot of work to actually get cleaned. It is a nice color and Im really glad that I own this baster.

Had a lot of promise....
Loved everything about this baster, until I sucked up hot basting liquid in the turkey pan. Oven was at 325 so not real hot but the entire length of the tube cracked in a few places. YIKE....not a good time for that. Super-glued the cracks, still sorta works now but looks like a zombie baster.

Works great as a baster or injector - Not easy to clean
This is a clever 2-in-1 device. On one hand it's a turkey baster, on the other is a "flavor injector". This comes with a needle attachment to inject the turkey with juice from the pan. The best part of this baster is also the most frustrating. the needle tip is fairly thick, but easily enters the turkey meat. The problem is with all the floaties and whatever else is in the turkey juice in the pan that clogs the needle. It makes it difficult to inject the turkey. DO NOT SQUEEZE TOO HARD. If there is resistance, the tip may be clogged and you make end up sending hot or scalding juice back towards you or onto the elements. Not a good time. A compromise is to take the turkey juice, put it in a bowl and strain it, then use it in the turkey. That was an easy enough solution.I wouldn't put this in the dishwasher. It's not too hard to wash, but it can be time consuming. Dishwashing didn't do a great job cleaning it.Cooking tip: I usually coat my turkeys in bacon, and this creates more juice to bast the turkey with. It's also a very tasty injection flavor. You can also inject BBQ sauce (I dilute mine with turkey juice or water to it's not so thick). You can inject chicken, burgers, turkey, or as my friend did - liquid (melted) cheese into chicken burgers. Whatever your heart desires. It's fun and adds a different dimmension to cooking.

Love it thank you
Love it does the job on my turkey and other meats. Love the idea of the needle thing to go inside the meats. To keep it from drying out
