Good budget minded brushes
Work fine for my cajon at church. Easy retraction. Creat good tone. Seem pretty durable.

nice, well made. Nylon works well for my cajon
I got this based on reading the review of others. This not the cheapest, nor is it priced among the top tier brushes for professional percussionists. That suits me as someone who just noodles around with a cajon. It works and appears well made. I got it to use on my cajon which probably would be damaged by wire brushes. It also worked well on the man-made "head" on my banjo. I need to fashion a cushioned or leather carry bag to protect them when not in use. The handles are a tough plastic, but it could be crushed is stepped on or something heavy is unintentionally placed on top of it.

Perfect Compliment for Cajun Variety
These are perfect for shuffle type percussion on the Meinl Cajon. They are lightweight, well balanced, and appear well made. They sound perfect with the Cajon, especially for soft rhythmic beats, and are a nice compliment to using the Cajon hands only. I found that having the adjustable length of the brushes allows for a nice change of sound, including a deepening sound, or even a 'beat' with stick only, especially when targeting the bass section of the Cajon. These bring a nice variety of sound to the Cajun and make a versatile instrument (Cajon) even more versatile, and allow for a pleasant "shuffle" pace sound that goes so nicely with Americana, folk, and country blues music. If you like the "unplugged sound", a la Clapton, these sounds really nice with the Meinl Cajon.

Updated versions are much better
The addition of the black supports around the opening make these worth it. Will they sound like metal brushes? No. But they sound pretty good and will last much longer.

Great For Electric Drums
I looked all over to find my wife brushes that weren't so stiff for her Roland's Electric drum set. When I saw these and counted the bristles, she agreed to try them. She got them today and couldn't wait to try them. Needless to say, she loves them. Not only are they better than the others, the price was acceptable. Thank you to the seller.

No different, tonally, than any other nylon bristle drum brush. If you already have some, don't bother with these.
These are nice brushes, but they are no different tonally than my old nylon brush/alum grip non-retractable brushes.I'd hoped for something louder, or that would make sweeps sounds better on a cajon, but not so.I doubt any brush will sound GREAT on a slick finished face, like all cajons I've played have.Still, the retracting option is nice, I have been using them anyway, to learn technique, even though the sound of sweeps is almost silent.

Great with the cajon!
I thought I'd try a set of brushes to get an additional sound on the cajon - they are great! SO MUCH easier on my hands than playing bare-handed. You can still get a good bass thump by using the rubber part, even with the brushes pulled out. I am not likely go to back to playing bare-handed from now on!

Good quality
These are great for my portable cajon. I like that they retract as they can be easily stored. They are not something I will use often but at this price and convenience, they are a good value.
