Stella Artois 2016 Limited Edition Chalice, Ethiopia 33cl

First, I commend Inbev through their Stella Artois brand for doing this....they as far as I can see made the donation for the water projects before the glassware was released.....The chalices are GORGEOUS.....I bought 12 (4 of each), and have 6 at hone. The other two sets I took to local bars and they managed to push even more chalice sales.But, I got mine at the original price of $12. For those of you that are rightfully saying that it has become "collectible" and parasites are selling them at WAY ABOVE the original price, just keep in mind, the parasite bought it for $12, so the money is still in the spirit of charity. My understanding is that the chalices are sold out....so the water project is funded, and if you are a collector of Stella Artois chalices, you can make the decision on whether to buy these resold ones at ridiculous prices.I as well find it somewhat disgusting that vendors hopped on these to hog them up, and resell them at higher prices, but in my heart, I know they at least paid for them, so the water project got what it needed. It just becomes some notion of if Stella drinkers want to pay top dollar for these...some will choose too....some will not. That's all fine.

When I bought this chalice it was only $13, so I'm glad I got it before the enormous price increase! At the time, I bought four chalices because of the drinking water that is donated to developing countries....20 years' worth and I get to drink from beautiful designed chalices with gold trim that so far has lasted through several dishwashings. Even though the Stella Artois label is etched/silkscreened onto glasses, they are still very classy and I actually plan to buy more at some point. The etching is specific to each country and flows around the entire chalice in addition to a cute engraving on the front of the stem. The glass itself is very heavy; not so thin that it's at risk of cracking in the dishwasher. Overall, a great buy for a great cause.

Beautiful chalice that I wish I bought 3 more of... The glass appears to be of moderate thickness which make it of better quality than a lot of the ones you'll see in a generic store. I visited Ethiopia a few years back and bought the Ethiopian edition, which is quite beautiful. The box it came in was nice, and had no damage whatsoever. There does appear to be quite a fluctuation in price with these products, but with the quality and durability of the glass you get, It is an amazing value at under $20, if you can find it at that price.

I purchased 3 of these beautiful chalices some years ago and gave one to each of my sons as a reminder of how we should take care of our planet after this old girl passes on.

These are so stylish, and fit a bottle of beer perfectly. We have been using them for water glasses. I love these glasses, but I bought them because clean water would be provided to a woman in a developing country. Even if the glasses were not as nice as they are, I would buy again because of charity. Best of both worlds, beautiful stemware and a wonderful charity!!!

The product is awesome and I love the idea of being able to help women access clean water for such a small amount of money! Especially in Ethiopia, where drought is so awfully severe. However, the glasses were not packed very well and one arrived smashed in spite of the box being in perfect condition. Please do a better job packing the glasses!

These glasses are beautiful! The quality is fantastic. Much nicer and thicker glass than the ones I purchased for my friend for her birthday. Really like the beveling on the stem. Adds to the elegance of the glass. Hope to be able to order a set from the next limited edition. And helping provide clean waters to others is a definitely plus.

Gorgeous glasses that look beautiful on the shelf or filled with your beverage of choice. These are elegant enough to offer to company, and sturdy enough for everyday use. Really great glasses for a fantastic cause!
