Great wide angle and clear picture on this camera! Controls are easy to use and are available on the web and on my iPhone app. I'm buying a 2nd one!Tip #1RECOGNIZING THE CAMERABe sure you click on the correct camera model before you download the installation program. If you don't select the right model, it will not find your camera and you'll be stuck. This is easy to overlook.Tip #2WIRELESS SETUPDon't use the automatic wireless recognition step if you use a password on your wireless system. It might connect initially, but once you unplug the camera and move it, it won't ever connect again (because it needs the password). Be sure you use the appropriate "CHOOSE my wireless network" option so you can enter the password, so it will store it. I think this is where most people get tripped up and think it won't connect to their wireless.Tip #3PHONE APP (DO NOT bother loading mydlink view-nvr, it doesn't work). Use mydlink Lite!If you have ever installed the MyDlinkLite app previously, uninstall it and reload it from the app store (AFTER you've set up your new camera). Once I did that, it recognized both my old and new cameras and worked beautifully. You can even use the pan/tilt option from your phone (though you might not notice the arrows if your not looking for them). You have to lightly touch the screen and they will show up all around the perimeter of the image (they are not below the picture in a control panel like they are on the full client web browser version).My previously installed mydlink lite app did not recognize the new camera at all at first. It showed up in the list with a big "?". So I tried loading the more robust mydlink view-nvr. Which I could not load at all until I updated the OS on my iphone. Updated the OS, loaded mydlink view-nvr which does NOT WORK AT ALL. Total waste of time. When that failed I deleted and reinstalled mydlink lite and that worked great.

Very easy to install. It provides good coverage (video and audio), it has a control panel that you can zoom, adjust light, tilt and pan. Very user friendly. The only problem with the camera is that the website at DLink to control the camera is very slow to load. You do need a record system with it. Please read my review of the DLink NVR 202L before investing. The slowness of the website and the recording device that goes with the camera is the reason for four stars instead of 5. The camera is great.UPDATE: I was able to speed my system back up by adding a router to my modem/router. However,I have spent hours trying to get this system to work. To include six hours on the phone with Tech Support, they will get it working and then within two days the whole system doesn't work. I sent three e-mails and have never received any answers. Gave up.

I can't vouch for the longevity of this product, but after having it for a few days, I am impressed with its performance. It has been responsive every time I've tried to connect to it away from home.Pro- feed quality is impressive - even at night- the viewing angle is wide enough to capture an entire room if you set it in the corner- motion detection works well- good value (unfortunately HD cams are still pricey)- easy setup- a number of configuration options for different levels of tech saavy- simple and functional iOS appCon- switching to night mode triggers a motion detection event - even in auto mode- no documentation on what the light statuses mean. the power LED started blinking green the other day - one forum said that this means the camera is in live view mode (uh oh?). another said this means that the camera is (re)connecting to wifi. definitely would be nice to make sure that someone isn't viewing me somehow... anyone know a way to verify that?- i use mac address filtering on my router, and with that enabled, i was unable to get the repeater to work. i have to admit that this issue may just be specific to my setup- motion detection setting has to be the same time frame for every day that it is enabled - no different schedule for weekends- motion detection cannot be enabled outside of the schedule if daily schedule is setWish List- offer push notifications to iOS for motion events- offer a shutdown or a privacy mode button- provide a second motion detection toggle on config/iOS app that allows you to override the current schedule. this way if you need detection on outside the set schedule, you don't have to manually change it for that case- offer a way to disable motion detection when you are at home (more difficult problem!)- offer a method to force video capture(please correct me if I've made any mistakes on my cons/wish lists)Overall, I would recommend this camera for entry level surveillance. Documentation asks to download the plugin but the software is not compatible with the Mac.

Arrived as expected. Price is 20$ less than I would've paid at my Costco.I added this camera to another one a Dlink 5010L. They are both functioning perfectly. I do not see any difference in both of them. I don't know why they changed the number. Specs seem to be identical.I love those cam, I can watch who is walking on my property with the 5010 and the 5020 is now looking inside my house.The only thing I cannot get any info is the wi-fi extender mode stated in the publicity. Cannot seem to see how it does work.Amazon is great when it is time to buy those things.p.s: after connecting to MyDlink account, I noticed a tab about the setting. There is a section regarding the wi-fi extender, all I had to do is check the little cube to activate the wi-fi extender. That's all. Sorry for the previous info but this might help somebody else. I give it 5 stars.

Primera ocasión que trabajo con este modelo ya que normalmente utilizaba el 5222, pero realmente me ha impresionado. Buena calidad en general de materiales como es habitual en Dlink (en esta serie de cámaras) y en cuanto a las características de imagen y video son muy buenas y no tiene mucho que envidiar a la que estaba habituado (ligeramente superior en precio).

I really liked it in the beginning but the image quality is bad past 10 feet. At 20 feet, you wont get a good enough picture of the person's face if you have a robber in your house. Otherwise it works well, the pan function works on my iphone but the reaction time is very slow, like 15-20 seconds, and streaming video is useless; if there is wind outside, I do see the trees changing positions (leaning) but I get maybe an image every 4-5 seconds, so it's not like video. I love the night vision and the motion detection function though, when a motion is detected, it sends me a picture and a 10 second video, so if someone broke the camera I would already have his pic and video!
