Great set for the price!
I was hesitant to buy this product after reading many of the reviews. I am so glad I decided to order this food set for my 2 1/2 year old daughter! This set is a great starter set for her play kitchen.Yes, some of the pieces could have more detail on them to make them look more realistic, but for the price, that was not my expectation, so I was not disappointed. Even without the details my daughter is able to identify most of the food items from this set so I don't see that as a problem. Also, the pieces are not the sturdiest on the market, but again, for the price, they are actually more sturdy than I expected. My daughters have used them for a month now and none have been smashed or dented yet. If some happen to get destroyed, I won't have a problem throwing those pieces away because of the price. There are over 100 pieces so this set should last my daughters for many years. If you are looking for a starter set for a child's kitchen, this is a great one!

Playfood review
First of all, you can not beat the price I got this play food set at. It was on sale, and I actually got it for 10$.It was delivered a few days before it was suppose to be and it was double packaged.I havent taken the pieces out of the plastic just yet, as the play food set is part of a birthday gift for my almost 3 year old.But I did look at the pieces as much as I could through the plastic and they looked like they were decent conditioned, and I dont mind the pieces that have the dented backing.I looked for a few weeks to find the best pricing for play food, and found this was the best price for the amount you get.My daughter will be 3 soon, and we will be using these pieces to learn foods, some shapes and colors.I review this as a 5 star..

Lots of imagination and variety
I bought this set for my almost 5 year old daughter because she is always pretend cooking with various things, from an eraser to a piece of cloth, but doesnt take kindly to organized cooking sets. I have both the Dora kitchen and various cooking sets but she doesnt spend time with them. Noticing her preference for free form play and cooking, I was looking for a play food set that would allow her to make whatever she wanted, wherever she is. I was also looking for something inexpensive, because I have a almost 3 year old son who throws everything and anything. This set seemed perfect for that, so i bought it. My daughter has had it for 3 days now and she has been doing exactly what i hoped she would do with it. She pretend cooks with whacky combinations, feeds her meals one after the other with dishes that just dont go together, but she is having fun. The quality is fine, although definitely not the best available plastic (and it is not wood, which is my preferred choice for toys). In fact, little kids get a kick out of biting into something and finding it a giving just a little. My son has fun with this too - he helps my daughter in cooking, he throws them around everwhere and since the set is large, my daughter still has enough ingredients/prepared food to play with, and he enjoys biting them. So high marks on fun, seems durable, and although it doesnt have very high educational value, that is not what i was looking for here anyway. Overall, this set is for kids who like variety and non-organized play. I would love it if all good toy manufacturers would start making versions of their toys that are more appropriate for each major geography - we are Indians and although i am fine teaching my children about rashers of bacon, apple pie and hot dogs, it would be great if there was a set that had global food options as well.

Toddler Loves These
I have been impressed with the wide assortment of foods in this set. My son loves playing with this and is a great addition to our kitchen. The plastic is durable and has held up to a lot of not-quite-so-pretend meals. Most of the food is sized for a two year old to play with, but my kid loved to shove things in his mouth for a lot longer time than most. As such, I had to pull a few of the pieces out because they were smaller or shaped just right to fit completely in his mouth. I now have a one year old that I don't worry about playing with the larger sized pieces of food as well. Eventually, as they get older, I will add in the few pieces I removed.

Just okay - not as nice as the 50's diner food
I expected these to be of the same quality as the toy food that came with the Step2 50's Diner set, but it's not. The pie, pizza, chocolate, and cookies only have the top. The bottom is hollow. The picture of the watermelon shows the green rind and black seeds, but the rind and seeds on the watermelon slices I received are just red. Also, the plastic is hard. Not like the softer plastic of the food that came with the 50s Diner. One of the ice cream pieces was dented, and one of the tacos was scratched. The nice thing about this set is that all the pieces are food - there are no canned or boxed items that kids don't like to play with as much.

Baby Food
I bought this set of food for my grandson for his new little kitchen and he absolutely loves it. They’re brightly colored, looks like actual food and sturdy. He is always trying to share them with people around him and offers them to the dog. However, the dog is unimpressed! Great product

Tactile Sight for Vision Impaired Students
I volunteer in a Special Ed Class and we have some students that are visually impaired. We purchased this product to make 'tactile cards' for these students to be able to 'see' (by feeling) what they are being taught. I have 'sewn' these food items to laminated cards that the children can handle (see) what they are being offered to eat. By doing this, the children learn about different foods and can make choices of what they'd like to eat.The items are much larger than what we expected, when they arrived, much to our delight. They are sturdy and well proportioned to our specific needs.Needless to say, they are much more than just 'play food' for our students!
